Pan Xiaoping, chairman of the city's orange fruit planting professional cooperative, said that the cooperative was just established this year and began to grow citrus saplings. At present, cooperatives mainly cultivate and sell citrus saplings and mobilize the masses to make use of barren mountains to plant fruit trees.

The cooperative adopts the method of base + farmers, by giving saplings to the surrounding farmers to mobilize the masses to join the cooperative, and the farmers will pay the seedling fee after three years of fruit. So far, the cooperative has distributed more than 40,000 tree saplings to farmers in Bahe Village, Watang Town and Jinyi Village, Qiaowei Town.

Pan Xiaoping, a native of Donglong Town, Tantang District, was engaged in the construction formwork industry for many years before establishing professional cooperation in fruit cultivation. In recent years, Pan Xiaoping and his lover began to grow oranges in Guangdong Province and Guilin City, and the development momentum is good. The purchase price of oranges is basically maintained at 8 yuan to 9 yuan per kilogram. At present, Pan Xiaoping has received orders for oranges in both places at no less than 8 yuan per kilogram.

Having tasted the benefits of growing oranges in other places, Pan Xiaoping began to think about expanding the scale of production, so she thought of going back to her hometown to start a business. Pan Xiaoping found that at present, there is less citrus planting in Guigang City, and there is a lot of room for market development. After running through the mountain villages in the third district, Pan Xiaoping chose Bahe Village and its surrounding areas with microclimate.

"this piece of land is good, and the unique microclimate is suitable for growing oranges. Farmers can enjoy long-term benefits after two years of hard management." Looking forward to the future of the cooperative, Pan Xiaoping is full of confidence. According to the growth cycle of fruit trees, he will plant saplings this winter and next spring and begin to put fruit into production in 2018. According to the calculation of 3000 kg to 5000 kg per mu and 8 yuan per kilogram in normal years, after the fruit trees are put into production, they are expected to earn 20, 000 to 50, 000 yuan a year. Before the fruit trees produce benefits, farmers can also interplant a variety of crops to ensure short-term benefits.

Pan Xiaoping said that at present, 50 farmers have joined the cooperative and planted nearly 700 mu of saplings. The cooperative provided five free planting training to farmers.

While developing fruit cultivation, cooperatives also directly contribute to accurate poverty alleviation. Bahe Village, a poor village, has been listed as the goal of getting rid of poverty in Guigang City in 2016. By helping farmers in pairs, cooperatives provide more than 60 jobs to help poor households generate income and get rid of poverty. "Orchard often need to hire people to work, busy times need dozens of people every day, many rural left-behind women are willing to come here to work." Pan Xiaoping said that the work in the orchard is suitable for the rural labor force, especially the left-behind women, who can take care of both working and housework.

"Cooperation will mobilize more farmers to grow oranges, form a deep processing industry chain, and really drive people on one side to get rich." Pan Xiaoping said that after the fruit was put into production, the cooperative adopted the base consignment model to ensure that the fruit was not in trouble. Moreover, with the expansion of the planting base and the completion of the industrial chain, it will provide more employment opportunities and form the industrial effect.
