From agricultural products to cultural tourism commodities, strawberries have increased the income of more than 2000 villagers by 5.6 million.

On December 8, the winter strawberry mining in the Pastoral Pure Ecological Park in Taiping Town, Tongliang District, attracted many people far and near to taste and pick.

Washing the dirt off his hands, 70-year-old Tang Qiyun went to the greenhouse restaurant to see if he needed any help. On December 8, the third Taiping Winter Strawberry picking Festival in Tongliang opened. Looking at the tourists who came to pick strawberries, Tang Qiyun always wanted to brag to others, "these strawberries look the same, but they actually have many names and taste different." The largest winter strawberry plantation in Chongqing has not only made the villagers rich on their doorstep, but also "changed their ideas and really regarded themselves as the masters of the place."

No one wants to go out to work because of his age.

Tang Qiyun returned to Yuanlou Village, Taiping Town in 2013, and has been relying on Tang Qiyun, who works part-time outside, because it is not easy to find a job because he is old. "at that time, I happened to hear that someone was coming to our village to grow strawberries, so I wondered if I could go back to work." After discussing with his wife, the two hit it off. Tang Qiyun told the reporter that when he returned to the village, he and his wife planted land in the strawberry orchard with more than 1000 yuan a month.

"it could be that I haven't planted land for many years, it's rusty, or it could be that I'm getting old, and I don't feel up to it all the time." At first, Tang Qiyun said that he helped his boss farm in the strawberry orchard and was in the mood of working day by day.

The failure of planting strawberries in the strawberry orchard suddenly awakened Lao Tang. "if the strawberry orchard is not run well, my job will be gone. If I farm, I can only eat at most, and I won't get any extra change." Lao Tang said that he did not want to live such a life.

Willing to study, 70-year-old people master the "secrets" of strawberries

It turns out that when we planted strawberries for the first time, we all thought it would be good to introduce seedlings, not to mention artificial pollination, let alone professional technology. The cultivation of winter strawberries failed in 2013.

In the following year, Mutang Pure Agricultural Development Company invited experts from Zhejiang, which not only introduced new varieties, but also made great efforts in cultivation. At the 10th and 11th Strawberry Culture Tourism Festival in China, Taiping Strawberry won the Gold Award.

"not only has the output gone up, but there are also more varieties." Lao Tang said that this year, as soon as he was free in the strawberry orchard, he walked around the strawberry shed with well-paid experts.

"look at these strawberries. The red one is called Hong Yan, which is very sweet. The longer fruit is called banana, and the meat is more waxy. And the cream really has a creamy smell." Lao Tang talks a lot about strawberries. "and do you know what kind of ripe strawberries tastes best? Well-done, you see, there is still a little white between the fruit and the leaves, and the strawberries are the most delicious at this time. " Tang said that all this was told to him by Qianjianhong.

In fact, Lao Tang's change in attitude is just a microcosm of the villagers in Yuanlou Village. "in the past, people were passive in farming, relying on heaven for a living, farming and doing things. Now we can see that the strawberry garden is getting better and better, and its initiative and enthusiasm have increased, and they really regard themselves as the host here. " Taiping Town propaganda Committee Gao Kaibi said.

Growing strawberries increases the income of more than 2000 villagers by 5.6 million yuan

The change of Lao Tang's attitude is inseparable from the accurate orientation of agricultural development in Taiping Town. "for growing rice, the output value of one mu of land is only about 1500 yuan, and farmers basically have no extra income. But now when growing winter strawberries, 4000 jin per mu of land is calculated, of which 50% is picked by tourists, and the picking price of 68 yuan per jin, the output value of one mu of land is about 150000 yuan, and the output value has fully increased a hundred times. " Gao Kaibi calculated such an account.

As a person in charge of the Tongliang District Committee of Agriculture said, growing rice is only agricultural products, while strawberries are commodities, but if tourists come to the greenhouse to pick, they are cultural tourism commodities. With the holding of the Strawberry Festival, more and more tourists came to pick strawberries, and some villagers saw the right time to start farm music. "it really feels that everyone's state is different."

According to Liu Yun, secretary of the party committee of Taiping Town, Strawberry Garden is only part of the modern agricultural sightseeing park in the western suburbs of Taiping Town, with an area of more than 6000 mu. It has basically formed four major industrial development forms characterized by winter strawberries, green mushrooms, four seasons vegetables, and ecological aquatic products, and has been named as the "demonstration site of leisure agriculture and rural tourism" by Chongqing.

Taiping Strawberry has established a brand and led the park to embark on the road of rural cultural tourism. Data from Taiping Town show that by working in winter strawberry plantations, setting up farm music, and selling agricultural special products, farmers have increased their total income by 5.6 million yuan, increasing the income of more than 2000 villagers.
