More than a year later, the pesticide fenpril was detected again in domestic eggs, and more than 460000 contaminated eggs went to the market, causing panic among consumers. Huang Jincheng, vice chairman of the Council of Agriculture, held a press conference on the 18th to explain that most of the contaminated eggs went to retail investors and breakfast operators, all out of stock. With regard to the delay of the inspection process for more than 10 days, the Council of Agriculture reviewed and requested the Central Animal production Association to complete the inspection within 48 hours after receiving the samples in the future, and grasp the prime time for follow-up investigation.

Shunhong pasture egg fenpril exceeds the standard Golden City: it must be spraying fenpril to exceed the standard.

In view of the unqualified eggs in Shunhong Farm, three pieces of eggs were found to exceed the standard, and the detected quantities were 0.03,0.04 and 0.06 ppm respectively, exceeding the residue standard 0.01ppm. Huang points out that the owner, surnamed Liao, owns three pastures. In addition to Shunhong Ranch, there are Liao Shusheng Livestock Farm and Shunyi Ranch. However, in the re-inspection report on February 14, no fenpril residues were detected.

Why on earth did the eggs remain fenpril? Jincheng explained that the owner of the animal certainly said that he did not use fenpril spraying, "but I think it must have been sprayed to cause excessive standards." In the past, livestock owners used to spray fenpril on chickens in order to get rid of fleas, but the year before last, fenpril aqueous solution has been banned, and some operators may still have some unused. But as long as the consumption period is over, you can't buy it.

For operators, they insist that fenpril is not used and that the retest is qualified. Huang pointed out that the reason for passing the re-test is that the drug metabolism is fast. 0.03ppm may be detected today, but it will not be tested in three days, and the residual time will be longer unless it exceeds the standard by dozens of times.

The inspection process was delayed for more than ten days and missed the prime time for tracing.

The local government completed the sampling as early as January 25, but it was not until February 13 that the Council of Agriculture formally issued a document to the Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency, and most of the illegal eggs had already been eaten by the public. In this regard, Jincheng admitted, "the inspection process has been delayed for too long, resulting in a delay in the tracking of problematic eggs." He further explained that the Central Animal production Association, which was responsible for the inspection, received samples on January 28, but because many animal samples had to be tested and the inspection process had to be arranged, the Fenpany illegal egg product was not confirmed to exceed the standard until February 13, after more than ten days.

Golden City stressed that in the future Finpany test samples, the Central Animal production Association must complete the inspection within 48 hours after receiving the samples, increase machinery, equipment and manpower, and so on. "within 48 hours, the inspection must be carried out before the products exceeding the standard can be removed from the shelves and destroyed."

In addition to shortening the inspection process, the sampling process must also be shortened. Huang said that local egg farms were sampled by local epidemic prevention centers, and it took too long for the central livestock production association to receive a piece of this case three days later. In order to facilitate operations, local epidemic prevention stations send them together after a sampling. "in the future, local epidemic prevention stations will be required to take samples on the same day and send them on the same day." And the relevant test results will also be published on the Internet, including the number of inspection pieces in a year, the qualified rate, and unqualified chicken farms. "all the information will be published, otherwise he (the livestock owner) will still have a fluke mentality."

Importing 2 million eggs to regulate the market is a short-term measure

In addition, since the end of last year, there has been a shortage of eggs in Taiwan. In addition to allocating eggs from the south to the north, the industry has also imported about 2 million eggs to supply domestic demand. However, Jincheng stressed that the allocation of imports is not the norm, but only temporarily adjusts market demand. It is expected that domestic egg production will be normalized in early March, and operators will not continue to import.

Huang said that in the future, relevant data, including the number of chicks, chickens in eggs, laying hens and egg production, will also be integrated to determine the domestic egg supply, so as to avoid insufficient supply and soaring egg prices.
