Yuan Longping's annual yield of 1537.78 kg per mu of double cropping super rice in South China broke the record.

At noon on the 19th, in Huanpi Village, Longtian Town, Xingning City, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, it was announced that the annual yield per mu of the project reached 1537.78 kg, and the project experiment was successful, and created a new world record for rice yield per mu.

After on-site harvesting, weighing and calculation, Yuan Longping presided over the project "the annual yield of double-cropping super rice in South China is 3000 jin per mu and the whole mechanized green and efficient model is 705.68 kg per mu (dry grain), plus the early yield per mu is 832.1 kg. Finally, the annual yield per mu reached 1537.78 kg (equivalent to 3075.56 jin).

Luo Xiwen, head of the expert group on production testing and acceptance and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said: Guangdong's climate is characterized by high temperature, high heat and much rain, and rice is extremely prone to diseases and insect pests, so it is not easy to increase production, especially in Meizhou this year. The impact of wind and rain caused by Typhoon "seahorse" is very serious. The two-cropping yield of double-cropping rice in South China is equivalent to that of the previous three crops, which is a major breakthrough.
