Powder ridge technology changes traditional farming mode

At present, powder ridge tillage, a new farming technology invented by the Institute of Economic crops of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, has attracted much attention.

Powder ridge tillage is a new technology for increasing agricultural production and improving ecology. This technology uses a special powder ridge deep rotary tiller to drive a vertical spiral bit to cut the soil vertically and loosen the soil, promoting the "shallow plough" of traditional ploughing and crushing soil for thousands of years. the transformation to the new mode of "vertical deep rotation" with the aid of modern machinery and equipment has promoted the innovation of farming technology step by step.

Powder ridge farming technology won the second prize of Guangxi technological Invention Award in 2015. The first self-propelled powder ridge machine passed the Guangxi provincial agricultural machinery technical appraisal and obtained the certificate in 2015, and passed the Guangxi provincial agricultural machinery extension appraisal and certificate in 2016.

At present, the powder ridge tillage technique has been tested and demonstrated on more than 20 kinds of crops in 21 provinces (regions), such as Guangxi, Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi. The results show that without increasing the application amount of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, irrigation water consumption and labor cost input, the effect of increasing production is remarkable. In August this year, Hainan Province included powder ridge machines in provincial agricultural machinery operation subsidies for the first time.
