Qinghai: realizing the artificial cultivation of Morchella for the first time

Science and Technology Daily News (Reporter Ma Yanfang) recently, the cultivation experiment of excellent strains of Morchella conducted by the Institute of crop breeding and cultivation of Qinghai Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences has achieved good results, and the Morchella planted in the experimental field has entered the picking period. This means that the artificial cultivation of Morchella is realized for the first time in Qinghai Province, which provides good technical support and practical experience for large-scale commercial cultivation in the future.

According to Che Jinye, associate researcher in charge of the project team, Morchella is a kind of wild precious fungus. It is named Morchella because its cover surface is uneven and shaped like sheep belly. It is recognized as a cherished food and medicinal fungus in the world. At present, Morchella mainly depends on wild, the yield is less, the collection is difficult, and the market demand is large. After two years of introduction experiment, Qinghai researchers achieved a technological breakthrough through four links: ridging inoculation, black film shading, nutrition supply and water regulation, and completed the whole growth cycle of Morchella within 80 days.
