Recently, Shandong Qingdao Agricultural University has undertaken the national public welfare industry (agriculture) scientific research project "Research and Development and demonstration of equipment for Precision planting and harvesting of crop varieties in Residential areas", which has made breakthroughs in key technologies such as precision control and self-purification of breeding. 12 kinds of equipment, including plant-row seeder, spike-row seeder and district strip planter, have been successfully developed, of which 11 models are the first in China.

According to Shang Shuqi, a project expert of the university and a professor of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, there is a big gap in the field of domestic community breeding and harvesting. Due to the small area and wide variety of plot experiments, this field is still mostly operated by manual methods, which affects the progress of breeding and the development of modern agriculture. The research project focuses on the planting patterns and agronomic requirements of seed plot breeding experiments for major crops such as cereals and corn, which can well solve the problems of efficiency and accuracy of breeding work, and at the same time, the price is moderate. it is conducive to the overall improvement of breeding in terms of speed and efficiency.
