After on-site yield measurement, the expert group announced that the average yield per mu of the project in the early season was 703.9 kg, with a maximum yield of 738.5 kg.

Tang Xiangru, a professor at South China Agricultural University and one of the project guidance experts, told reporters that the project covers an area of 110 mu and adopts the model of "Super 1000" variety + double-cropping super rice strong source living bank rice (strong source refers to enhancing leaf photosynthesis, living bank refers to improving grain activity of rice, increasing starch content, and excellent rice refers to improving taste and quality of rice) cultivation technology + transplanting seedlings with rice bowl machine.

The core of this technical model is as follows: selecting "Super 1000", precision sowing on sowing line, cultivating strong seedlings in greenhouse with "Super Rice Seedling strengthening Agent" in greenhouse, transplanting seedlings by transplanting machine, applying 70 kg / mu of "Super Rice Special Fertilizer" in deep base fertilizer, 30 kg / mu of "Super Rice Special Fertilizer" at turning green and tillering stage, spraying 200 g / mu "Super Rice quality improver" at break and heading stage, irrigation and unified control of diseases and insect pests.

Yuan Longping said that 38 sites have been selected across the country to study the cultivation of the fifth generation super hybrid rice. The project of "tackling the key technical problems of annual yield of 3000 jin per mu of double-cropping super rice in South China" in Xingning City is one of the experimental sites of the fifth generation super hybrid rice.

The members of the expert group for yield testing and acceptance in the field included Xie Huaan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Luo Xiwen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, who had cultivated improved rice varieties of "Shanyou 63". After on-site harvesting, weighing and calculation, the expert group announced the acceptance results: the average yield per mu was 703.9 kg, and the highest yield reached 738.5 kg.
