However, the hydrostatic press of the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute is not imported from Japan, but is produced by a company called starfish Instruments in Qingdao. When it comes to the development of hydrostatic press, Zhang Yuefeng, general manager of Qingdao starfish instrument Co., Ltd., is full of pride.

Zhang Yuefeng told the Economic Daily that in April 2011, the flounder system research group of the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fisheries Sciences was looking for someone to produce a hydrostatic press according to their requirements for fish gynogenesis and polyploid breeding. at this time, the starfish instrument, which is well-known in a series of fish biometric products, was selected. Zhang Yuefeng is very happy and under pressure to produce scientific research equipment for the country's first-class research institutes.

Zhang Yuefeng said that at that time, some Japanese enterprises produced similar products, but they were "not satisfied with the soil and water." "hydrostatic presses are mainly used in fish ponds or aquaculture ponds during the spawning season. Japanese products are OK in freshwater aquaculture, but in mariculture, it is very inconvenient to use. Domestic users are eager for Chinese enterprises to produce similar products." Zhang Yuefeng said.

Pressure also follows, research and development strength is not strong, lack of mechanical processing experience, can you take on such an important task? Zhang Yuefeng asked himself more than once. "this is a big cake, no matter how difficult it is." He made up his mind.

Zhang Yuefeng said: at present, China's offshore fishery is in a frequent emergency, and it is imperative to vigorously develop aquaculture. Polyploid breeding technology is favored because it can increase fish production, accelerate the growth rate of fish fry, control its overreproduction, and protect fish germplasm resources. "in polyploid breeding techniques, the hydrostatic pressure method is widely used because of its high induction rate, more than 90%, short treatment time, generally 3 to 5 minutes, little damage to fertilized eggs, high survival rate, simple technical operation procedures, easy optimization and mastery of conditions, and easy standardization of treatment procedures."

In the Qingdao technology market, Zhang Yuefeng's determination was quickly answered. Qingdao Liancheng innovative Technology Development Service Co., Ltd. soon came to the door. "We have carried out a standardized resolution of the technical problems encountered in the development of starfish instruments. it is found that the main problems to be solved by starfish are the pressure resistance of piston sealing ring, the pressure resistance and backflow of one-way valve, and the volume and sealing of pressure chamber." Zhong Huiqun, general manager of Liancheng Innovation, said, "in view of these problems, we integrate our own resource advantages to help starfish break down one by one." It is understood that Liancheng innovative technicians undertake the research and development of pressure resistance of piston sealing rings, and cooperate with a mechanical processing plant in Qingdao to solve the problems of pressure resistance and backflow of one-way valves and the volume and sealing of pressure tanks.

Recalling the scene of the original development, Zhang Yuefeng was filled with emotion: "in the past six months in the processing factory, it can really be said to be suffering. I soak in the factory every day. I often wake up from my dream when I sleep at night, and the first thing I do when I wake up is research and development." In October of that year, the first hydrostatic press went offline, and the starfish instrument company was officially established.

In more than 4 years from 2011 to now, the performance of hydrostatic press has been continuously improved, and 36 sets have been sold so far. "our users include the flounder flounder system team of the Yellow Sea Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fisheries Sciences, Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-sen University, Huazhong Agricultural University and Hunan University of Science and Technology." Zhang Yuefeng said that the turnover of starfish instruments also increased from 1.3 million yuan in 2012 to about 3.1 million yuan in 2014.

Today, on the basis of hydrostatic press, a deep-sea pressure simulator has been extended. "although we have not yet made a larger pressure chamber, we are providing similar application solutions for several domestic enterprises." Zhang Yuefeng said frankly, "with several years of experience, we have strengthened our confidence in moving forward in the oceans and fisheries."
