Last Updated: 2024/09/19, Liu Wei: a good cadre who is more "in the heart" in the village.

Liu Wei, 35, a cadre from the Development Center of the Poverty Alleviation Office of the State Council, worked as first secretary of Nanmeng Village, Langde Town, Leishan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province in August 2015. For more than a year, under his leadership, the villagers have new ways to get rich and increase their income, and great changes have taken place in the village.

Talking about Liu Wei, the villagers of Nanmeng Village were grateful for his intentions and feelings, and told the reporter two little things that moved them particularly.

The children in the village review and do their homework all the time on narrow benches, sometimes only by dim light or candlelight at home. "all the children in the city have spacious and tidy desks, doing homework, reading and surfing the Internet in the bright light, but here the family learning environment is so simple."

In April this year, Liu Wei and his classmates launched a public welfare crowdfunding campaign "I want to have a desk" on a public welfare website. In just 13 hours, they raised a desk and a lamp for each of the 150 children in the village. In early May this year, desks and lamps were sent to the village, which moved the whole village very much.

There are 194 villagers in Nanmeng Village, and more than 100 people work outside the village, of which more than 50 are engaged in the jewelry processing industry in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province. On May Day this year, everyone held a hometown party in Yiwu, but no one expected that Liu Wei would personally come to Yiwu to celebrate the festival with everyone. "I have been working abroad for more than 10 years, and I got this concern for the first time, especially when he said, 'there is a village to take care of at home, please rest assured', which makes people cry." Villager Yu Hong said first.

The closeness of heart and heart makes the villagers full of trust in this foreign cadre. Li Yuqiang, a village accountant, said that when Liu Wei first came here, he was afraid of eating chili peppers, but now he can eat anything. No matter whose house he went to, the villagers would keep him to drink a bowl of Miao rice wine, and he had long become a "Miao villager."

What makes the villagers feel the most is the real changes that Liu Wei has brought to the village.

Nanmeng Village is the first batch of "Chinese traditional villages" and the "hometown of Lusheng dance art" granted by the Ministry of Culture, but for many years, the village has not found a way to get rich. In 2014, the incidence of poverty in the village exceeded 30%, with no collective economic income.

After finding out the situation in the village, Nanmeng Village set up a professional cooperative for rural tourism in December last year. The cooperative has Lusheng performance group, national handicraft group, agricultural management group and e-commerce group. Poor households who set up archival cards join four groups according to their personal strengths and hobbies, each of which is linked to the corresponding market companies.

The Lusheng performance team invited national non-heritage inheritors from neighboring towns to teach Lusheng production skills; the national handicraft group regularly organized women to train in embroidery skills; and the e-commerce group set up the town's first e-commerce warehousing and logistics center. the village's tea, rice and fish farming, red rice, bayberry, persimmon and other agricultural products are sold through micro-stores.

The benefits of this cooperative model are immediate. Since its establishment, the cooperative has received orders for 2000 embroidered teacup mats worth 60, 000 yuan, increasing the income of 30 embroidered women by 30, 000 yuan. Through tea planting and sales in the first quarter, the cooperative has achieved an income of more than 60, 000 yuan and paid more than 50, 000 yuan of labor income to villagers. In Leishan County, the village cooperative also opened a "barbecue fish shop", which operates and serves poor families in the village, and provides free training for villagers who are willing to learn barbecue skills. At present, 26 of the 35 poor households in the village have achieved an average income increase of 5250 yuan.

Thanks to Liu Wei's efforts, Nanmeng Village has also achieved wifi coverage, which is rare in poor villages in Guizhou. This solves the problem of poor information in the mountainous areas. WeChat groups are available in the village to facilitate villagers' communication, problems can be reflected and solved in time, and migrant workers can also keep abreast of the developments in the village.

Liu Wei said: in the struggle to get rid of poverty, at the beginning, the villagers led and dragged, very passive, and now they are walking step by step. He was pleased with the change and hoped that the villagers would walk quickly. He told reporters that Nanmeng Village was listed as one of the eight demonstration villages for tourism development in Qiandongnan Prefecture in the second half of this year, bringing opportunities for the next step of development of the village.

Seeing that the change in the village is getting faster and faster day by day, many villagers who have been working outside for many years plan to return to the village and work with everyone. "as a villager, we should make a contribution to the village." Villager Yu Hong said first.
