Every day in Nantai Village, Qinghe District, Tieling City, Liaoning Province, a woman can be seen carrying a heavy medicine box, either walking or riding on a country road. Her name is Pan Ying, a local village doctor.

In 2004, 24-year-old Pan Ying graduated from Dalian Medical University and returned to her hometown to work as a rural doctor. Over the past 12 years, she has worked conscientiously to serve the villagers, good medical skills, kind-hearted and talkative, and the villagers in the eight villages are willing to see her for medical treatment.

Pan Ying's congenital deformity of both hands was identified as a grade IV physical disability. Physical pain has been accompanied by her growth, but also achieved her dream of becoming a doctor.

Pan Ying, who was admitted to Dalian Medical University, made a decision that affected her life after graduation, gave up the opportunity to work in the city, went back to her hometown to become a rural doctor, and began a family-to-family diagnosis and treatment. At that time, there was no doctor with a professional background in the village. as soon as relatives and neighbors heard that she was a medical student, they came to see her one after another. During the holidays, she treated the villagers almost every day, deeply feeling the need for doctors in the countryside.

Pan Ying is left-handed. The teacher told her that if you go to the countryside to be a rural doctor, you should learn needle injection and nursing care, and you must make your right hand more skilled than your left hand. Pan Ying, who is already disabled, has another obstacle that is difficult to overcome on the way to her dream. But she had the spirit of not admitting defeat and finally overcame the difficulties and skillfully mastered the technique of needling in her right hand.

There is no doubt that she was lucky on the way to her dream. A belief, a persistence, coupled with the encouragement of her family, made her dream come true. But at the same time, on the way to realize her dream, she is also unfortunate, the defects of her hands, let her pay more effort and sweat than ordinary people, but also accept the voices of others to question. When she first became a doctor, patients often saw that her hands were disabled and asked, "how are you doing?" Is that all right? " Pan Ying always smiles at such questions and responds to them with good medical skills. Over time, the villagers of our village and even the neighboring villages gave the little girl a thumbs up.

Pan Ying told reporters that she makes nearly 10 house calls on average every day. When she was a village doctor, the road in the village was not easy to walk. In order to facilitate the villagers to see a doctor, Pan Ying specially bought a bike. In 12 years, she rode two bicycles and one electric car.

Pan Ying is becoming more and more famous, and villagers in neighboring villages often ask her to make house calls. One night in the winter of 2011, Pan Ying suddenly received a call for help from villagers in the neighboring village of Shibadao. She immediately picked up the medicine box and flashlight and hurried over. It was more than 5 miles from the clinic to Shibadao village, and there was still snow on the road. She slipped and fell many times, but she stumbled and finally got to the patient's home. The villager was diagnosed with cholecystitis. She stayed at the patient's house until dawn and did not leave until the patient's condition improved.

Cui Yulin, a 73-year-old man from Nantai Village, is disabled and his family is particularly difficult. Since returning to his hometown to practice medicine 12 years ago, the old man Cui Yulin has become Pan Ying's concern. Pan Ying's phone number is memorized by the old man. When the old man is in trouble, Pan Ying is on call. She not only comes to the door every once in a while to take blood pressure, do tests, and deliver medicine for the elderly, but also accompany him to chat about things at home. When it comes to Pan Ying, Cui Yulin has endless words: "Pan Ying takes special care of me. I call her when there is something big or small in my family these years. I am grateful to her from the bottom of my heart."

Anyone who has a patient, as long as a phone call, no matter what the weather, she will rush there as soon as possible. When she was strapped for money, she also paid for medicine in advance and even paid for free treatment. Six years ago, villager Ning Shuyun had a mental shock. Pan Ying arrived at the first time, injected her with cardiotonic, saved her life, and confiscated a penny of medical expenses.

A few years ago, Pan Ying opened a drugstore at the head of the village, which has a good location, a large number of villagers living around, and convenient for house calls, so she finally has a relatively fixed place of work. But the villagers generally have a low income and often have no money to buy medicine when they are sick. For such patients, Pan Ying gave them medicine even though she knew they could not repay the cost of the medicine.

In the eyes of the villagers, Pan Ying has excellent medical skills and ethics. But she felt guilty about her family, especially as a daughter, she couldn't take good care of her parents. Sometimes, she is taking care of her sick parents. As soon as she receives the call from the patient, she immediately picks up the medicine box and goes there.

For 12 years, she makes house calls almost every day and has never had a day off.
