Li Shumin, 49, is of medium height, with small, bright eyes and neatly dressed, much like a white-collar worker in the city. Li Shumin's family farm mainly cooperates with scientific research institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Hebei Academy of Agricultural Sciences to test, demonstrate and popularize new varieties and technologies of wheat and corn. Every year, 18 or 19 new wheat varieties are bred, tested and demonstrated, and more than 200 new maize varieties are tested, demonstrated, displayed and selected. There are also very tedious agricultural science and technology experiments, such as different varieties, sowing dates, sowing rates, different fertilization, irrigation methods and so on. In his words, it's called a "test kit test". Without a little patience and hard work, I'm afraid it can't be done well.

Formula fertilization, planting densely tolerant varieties, single-grain precision sowing, integration of water, fertilizer and medicine, and integrated control of diseases and insect pests. With the application of a large number of practical new agricultural technologies and the cultivation of new varieties, Li Sumin's family farm basically has a bumper harvest every year, providing the country with 170000 kilograms of safe and high-quality wheat and 180000 kilograms of high-quality corn every year.
