Wang Yuzhong is a farmer in Quanshuidi Village, Beiting Town, Jimusar County. Every year after the summer grain harvest, he will grow winter stored Chinese cabbage. In the past two days, a large area of snow has begun to fall, with snow falling more than 1 meter in some areas, affected by road traffic, and the price of winter stored Chinese cabbage has also begun to rise. No one asked from 40 cents per kilogram in October, but now it has risen to 50 cents per kilogram, which is still in demand.

Wang Yuzhong: I have planted 35 mu of winter stored cabbage this year. The weather this year is good. Rain Water is more, and it snows late. The cabbage also grows well, the grain is big, the growth is full, and the color looks good, but the price is a little lower than that of last year. When we began to produce the land in October, the wholesale price was only more than 30 cents and 40 cents. It has snowed in the past few days, and the price has also come up. It is more than 50 cents per kilogram. The price is a little better than last year, just 50 cents a kilogram.

Monitoring data show that from October to November, cabbage prices first fell and then rose. As of November 17, net cabbage prices in Shandong and Hubei, the main producing areas, were about 0.28 yuan / jin and 0.60 yuan / jin respectively, up 127% and 114% respectively over the same period last year. In Pingyin County, Jinan City, Shandong Province, vegetable dealer Liu Bing told reporters that the price is more than double that of last year, all because this year's cabbage production is lower than in previous years.

Liu Bing: the price of Chinese cabbage is much higher this year, twice as much as last year. Chinese cabbage is about 18 cents. Because the food from the south has just been on the market, the resources are relatively tight, and we are all collecting goods here. The market is good this year and the purchase volume is large. All our Shandong dishes are shipped to Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places. The output this year is not as low as that of last year.

Chinese cabbage, the most common vegetable, compared with varieties with high economic benefits such as cucumbers and tomatoes, the annual planting area is easily affected by market fluctuations in previous years because of low planting cost, easy management and other reasons. He Tan, an analyst at Zhuochuang Information Market, said that coupled with the bad weather of vegetables in the south this year, the supply and demand of cabbage market, which had already reduced production, was tight.

He Tan: first, the planting area of cabbage in the main producing areas of Shandong this year is slightly less than that of last year, with a range of about 10%; second, there has been a yield reduction in some areas. Take Feicheng area as an example, the local cabbage yield of about 9000 jin per mu this year will be reduced by 1000 jin in previous years, a drop of 10%. The output of cabbage in Hubei is also less than that of last year. Third, the demand is strong. Since October, many places in the south have been overcast and rainy, and the growth of vegetables has been greatly affected, especially leafy vegetables such as cabbage and spinach. A large number of southern customers have gone to various producing areas to book and purchase in advance; fourth, storage activities are active. After entering November, depositors began to buy cabbage into the warehouse, and the trading volume of cabbage is relatively large.

At present, cabbage from Hebei, Shandong, Shaanxi, and three eastern provinces has begun to appear on the market in large quantities. Hetan predicts that this winter will be a big year for storing cabbage prices in winter, and it is expected that there will be no shortage of price increases in the future, and farmers can seize the opportunity to make a small profit.

Hetan: the listing volume of Shandong cabbage will gradually increase from November to December. Under the circumstances of reduced output and strong demand in the southern market, the price of cabbage is likely to rise further. Growers can sell their goods in batches and get more profits.
