In the middle of winter, during an interview in Yongjin Village, Puyu Road Town, Kedong County, a group of naive calves aroused the reporter's interest: the little guys with black and white flowers were not big, but they all looked strong, enjoying the winter sunshine leisurely in the spacious and clean barn.

Yongjin Village is a key poverty alleviation village in Puyu Road Town, with a total population of 3108, including 115,291 poor people. Due to the lack of labor force, natural disasters, lack of funds for development and production and other reasons, it is difficult for these poor households to shake off poverty and become rich on their own. Through the twinning activities carried out throughout the county, Feihe Dairy and Yongjin Village formed a pair and took the initiative to take the task of lifting half of the poor households out of poverty in the village. after on-the-spot investigation and consultation with the village, Feihe Dairy adopts the mode of "leading enterprises + cooperatives + farmers" to help Yong enter the village. In September last year, with the support of the county and township levels, Song Changchun, secretary of the Yongjin village branch, took the lead in setting up a Muxing beef breeding cooperative. Feihe Dairy provided 300 dairy calves to the cooperative, which was equally distributed among the 60 poor households who joined the cooperative. The cooperative has adopted a "five-unified" management method, that is, unified calf supply, unified epidemic prevention, unified feeding, unified feeding, unified recycling, breed improvement of these bulls, raising and selling as beef cattle, and when they come out 10 months later, the average weight of these improved beef cattle can reach 400 kilograms.

It is these calves from the modern pasture of Feihe that give the poor families in Yongjin village the confidence and hope to shake off poverty and become rich, so they take extra good care of these little ones. The keeper of the cooperative told the reporter: "these calves came here as soon as they were born. they have been here for more than two months now, but they can't be fed yet. They need to be fed with a breast feeder." Waiting on these calves is similar to taking care of children. I dare not take it lightly. I have to carefully observe their activities and changes every day to see if there is anything abnormal. these two calves have a little cough today, and the veterinarian says they have a cold. I'll give them an injection later. " In order to ensure the healthy growth of these calves, the cooperative is specially equipped with two professional veterinarians responsible for epidemic prevention and technology, and four farmers as full-time breeders, all of whom are poor families in the village.

Fu Mancang, 68, is a group of nine villagers in Yongjin village. when talking about working as a breeder in a cooperative, Lao Fu sighed with emotion: "my wife is sick all the year round and cannot work, and I am too old to do heavy work." in the past, he barely made ends meet on the contract fee of 14 mu of land, and he has always been a poor household in the village. This year, I joined the cattle-raising cooperative in the village. The cooperative distributed five heads of cattle to our poor families, so they didn't have to pay the capital and worked to earn money when they came out of the fence. Not to mention this, I worked as a breeder in the cooperative with a monthly salary of 1800 yuan and could work for 10 months. In this way, with wages plus dividends and land contract fees, my family's income could exceed 30,000 yuan this year, completely lifting us out of poverty! "

During the interview, Song Changchun, secretary of the Yongjin village branch, calculated such a benefit account to the reporter: "raising these calves cooperatives and farmers do not have to pay the funds. When the enterprises come out to recover, deduct the cost of 1000 yuan per calf, and then eliminate the total cost of the cooperative to withdraw the provident fund and raise. The survival rate is calculated at 92%, the net profit of each cow can reach 1900 yuan, and the income of poor households can be increased by 9500 yuan. The first year is an attempt, and if it works well, we will continue to expand the scale in the future and, through the help of enterprises and our own efforts, let more poor households embark on the road of getting rid of poverty and becoming rich through beef cattle farming.
