Last Updated: 2024/09/19, Jiao Huiping grows Chinese wolfberry and increases its annual income by 10 million yuan in overseas sales.

I have long heard that Jiao Huiping is a famous Chinese wolfberry grower in Yumen City. On the morning of January 18, when the reporter came to the Hongbao Huinong Agricultural Co., Ltd., which he founded in Yumen City, Jiao Huiping was busy packing and shipping the screened Chinese wolfberry. Jiao Huiping said with a smile: "it's going to be New year soon. I'm in a hurry to send the last batch of goods to Malaysia. After the delivery, it will be easy to celebrate the Spring Festival."

Jiao Huiping, 43, a villager of Xiadong Village, Xiaxi Town, Yumen City, has not only made himself rich by planting Chinese wolfberry since 2008, but also led the whole village to live a rich life by planting Chinese wolfberry. In 2016, the 2800 mu of Chinese wolfberry he planted reached 360 tons and sold to Malaysia and Taiwan at a price higher than the market price of 6 yuan per kilogram, with an income of more than 18 million yuan.

Speaking of growing Chinese wolfberry, Jiao Huiping did not revel in the joy of today's success. He said that in 2007, he read in the newspaper that farmers in Ningxia had grown Chinese wolfberry to get rich. With the idea of giving it a try, he went to Ningxia, Qinghai and other places to learn about the conditions and techniques of growing Chinese wolfberry. After investigation and study, he felt that the temperature, soil structure and climatic conditions of Yumen were very suitable for the cultivation of Chinese wolfberry. In the spring of 2008, he ordered 400 mu of Chinese wolfberry seedlings from Zhongwei in Ningxia and began to lead his family to plant Chinese wolfberry on the land of Daquan Bay in Xiadonghao Village. However, he encountered problems in the first year of planting. The Chinese wolfberry he planted was of low yield and poor quality. More than 100 kilograms of dried fruit per mu can only be sold for one or two thousand yuan, which is not as cost-effective as growing cash crops such as corn and cumin.

Jiao Huiping said that at that time, the family had the idea of digging seedlings. But the bow did not turn back the arrow, do not admit defeat is his character, recognize the thing must persist in doing. After the Spring Festival in 2009, he went to Zhongwei again and invited Chinese wolfberry planting experts to solve the problem of Chinese wolfberry planting. After a detailed understanding of the situation, the experts analyzed the reasons, mainly because the planting technology is not in place and the standardized management can not keep up. To this end, he invited experts to regularly go to the planting base to train themselves and explain management techniques on the spot. With the help and guidance of experts, he also introduced high-quality Chinese wolfberry varieties with strong adaptability, strong resistance to diseases and insect pests and high yield, such as Ningqi 5 and Ningqi 7. In order to achieve the level of green and standardized production, he adopted measures and new techniques such as reasonable close planting, scientific fertilization and strengthening field management to continuously improve the quality of Chinese wolfberry and ensure that the planted Chinese wolfberry reached the green organic standard.

Where there's a will, there's a way. In 2010, the survival rate of Chinese wolfberry planted by Jiao Huiping reached 95%, and the output doubled. After that, he expanded the scale of Chinese wolfberry base by means of land transfer. by 2015, his Chinese wolfberry planting base had grown to 2800 mu, and his income from planting Chinese wolfberry had reached 6.04 million yuan, making his own world in the development of Chinese wolfberry industry. As a result, Jiao Huiping has become a well-known "big Chinese wolfberry grower" in Yumen City, and he has also been praised by the Yumen municipal government as the city's industrial wealth leader.

When you are rich, you must not forget your fellow villagers. It is Jiao Huiping's greatest wish to let the villagers of the whole village embark on the road of prosperity by planting Chinese wolfberry. To this end, he took the lead in establishing the Hongbao farmers' professional cooperative in the western region, adopting the marketing model of "company + cooperative + peasant household" to provide unified technical guidance for the whole village's Chinese wolfberry growers and provide services such as processing and acquisition. In order to extend the Chinese wolfberry industrial chain, with the help of the leaders of Xiaxihao Town, he introduced businessmen from Inner Mongolia and built a deep processing project of Chinese wolfberry in Xiadonghao Village, which thoroughly solved the problem of selling Chinese wolfberry in the whole village.

Wang Yulin, a villager of three groups in Xiadonghao Village, said: "when there was no Chinese wolfberry in the past, I didn't know what to grow in spring, and it was even more sad to sell after autumn." Now keep up with Jiao Huiping to grow Chinese wolfberry, there is a cooperative unified management, unified sales, the selling price is higher than the market price, we just put money in our pockets. " Last year, the 25 mu of Chinese wolfberry planted by Wang Yulin's family had a net income of 9000 yuan per mu and a total income of 225000 yuan. Wang Yulin said with emotion that this was something he never dreamed of.

Ni Jun, secretary of the party branch of Xiadonghao Village, said that with the drive and help of Jiao Huiping, the planting area of Chinese wolfberry in Xiadonghao Village expanded to 9800 mu last year, accounting for 81% of the village's arable land. Xiadonghao Village has also become a veritable wolfberry professional village. By growing Chinese wolfberry, some villagers bought buildings in the city, some drove cars, and their lives became more and more prosperous year after year.
