Today, in Jiulong Town, Yingde, many farmers are "talking about yellow change." once the pillar industry, sugar orange, was affected by "Huanglong disease", farmers had to seek transformation. Chen Jinxing, a farmer in Kowloon, took the step of planting Misi jujube. Before the Spring Festival, the first batch of 2000 jin of honey dates he planted was snapped up.

On the morning of 13 February, the reporter came to the Misi jujube fruit farm in Laokeng Village, Jiulong Town. The fruit tree was less than half a person high, but it was covered with green Misi jujube. Occasionally, the wind blew, and the fruit was teetering on the branches and leaves.

Chen Jinxing, 50, has been growing sugar oranges in Jiulong Town for 13 years, and his past good harvest has earned him some money. However, since the spread of Huanglong disease in 2013, Chen Jinxing's sugar orange has lost money every year, with a loss of nearly 300000 yuan in the worst year. In a fit of anger, he cut off all the 70 mu of sugar oranges he had grown at home.

When Chen Jinxing was clueless and helpless, a former customer in Guangxi recommended planting Misi jujube to him. When he heard that Misi jujube could be planted and harvested that year, and the market price was good, Chen Jinxing's first reaction was "impossible" and went to the fruit market in Guangxi to inspect it.

"according to him, Misi jujube does not have high requirements on the growth environment, as long as there are sufficient water and fertilizer, it can grow luxuriantly." Although he expressed doubts about the production environment and yield of Misi jujube, Chen Jinxing purchased a number of saplings and rented 15 mu of land for trial planting in Kowloon. To people's surprise, the first batch of 2000 jin of honey jujube before the Spring Festival was snapped up and sold out.

"the market price of Misi jujube is about 8 yuan, and the purchase price is at least 3 yuan per jin. The market prospect is good." Chen Jinxing said that Misi jujube has high economic benefits and can be harvested when it is planted that year, and its sweet and crisp taste is also different from other varieties and is more loved by consumers. He calculated an account: the cost of planting an mu of Misi jujube is about 2000 yuan, and the yield per mu is about 2000 jin. According to the current lowest purchase price, one mu of Misi jujube can make a profit of 4000 yuan.

Chen Jinxing has long had a countermeasure for the villagers' concern about the marketing of new varieties. "now Misi jujube is still relatively rare in the market, and I also know some fruit dealers who basically have no problems in terms of marketing." Seeing that the market of Misi jujube has responded well, Chen Jinxing plans to expand it to 100 mu this year to drive the villagers to get rich together. At present, 12 villagers have followed Chen Jinxing to plant honey jujube.
