In the greenhouse of Shilixiang Strawberry Ecological Garden in Mengjin County, Luoyang City, Henan Province, the fragrance is refreshing, full and red strawberries fall on the ground, and Huang Ruibai flowers adorn it. The owner of this strawberry plantation is Lu Miaoxia, a famous rich woman in the eight townships, and the villagers affectionately call her "strawberry Xi Shi". Lu Miaoxia has successively won honorary titles such as the National Women's Day Red Flag bearer, the National Outstanding female migrant Workers, and the National Women's Meritorious Advanced individual.

Return to your hometown and start a business again

In 1989, in order to get rid of poverty, 21-year-old Lu Miaoxia left her hometown to work in Beijing. With the help of her relatives and friends, she began to sell fruit. Get up before dawn every day, run more than 30 kilometers on a scooter, wholesale fruit at the wholesale fruit market, and get home at eight or nine o'clock in the evening. With the spirit of "solid scale" and good service attitude, from hawking along the street to setting up stalls on the street, and then to having her own dealership, she has a firm foothold in Beijing Railway Station.

During the Spring Festival in 2008, when Lu Miaoxia returned to her hometown in Luoyang for the Spring Festival, she found that there were few high-end fruits there, and most of them were bought from other places. In particular, strawberries, regardless of their head, variety, or taste, are very different from those sold in the Beijing market. Luoyang also did not have a large-scale and high-quality strawberry plantation, so she came up with the idea of leading villagers to grow out-of-season melons and fruits in the greenhouse to get rich.

Just after the Spring Festival, Lu Miaoxia went to Shandong and other places to inspect strawberry cultivation and found that the benefit of planting out-of-season greenhouse fruit per mu was several times higher than that of growing grain, especially the economic benefit of strawberries was higher than that of other fruits. Therefore, she specially invited two technical experts from Shandong to inspect Mengjin. After field investigation, experts concluded that the soil and water quality of Mengjin are suitable for growing greenhouse fruits, and they have advantages over Shandong. As the temperature here is higher than that in Shandong, the fruit can ripen half a month earlier than in Shandong. After listening to the analysis of experts, Lu Miaoxia further strengthened her determination and confidence in growing fruits in the greenhouse.

However, how to persuade the villagers to change their established ideas to work with her has become the biggest problem. Before that, no one in the area had ever grown greenhouse fruit. Lu Miaoxia went door to door to persuade her, but as a result, it was difficult to dispel the misgivings of the villagers, and some even talked behind her back that she was a "stupid girl." Her elderly mother also repeatedly persuaded: "it is not easy to have a little savings, all of a sudden into so much, what to do if you break the pot?"

The doubts of the villagers and the opposition of her family did not shake Lu Miaoxia's determination to start a business.

In 2009, she contracted 150 mu of land in Zhuzhai Village, Shizhuang Town, Mengjin County, with a resounding name: Shili fragrant Strawberry Base. With the help of the local women's federation, a loan of more than 2 million yuan was made to build a greenhouse to grow out-of-season fruits. When the greenhouse was built, she bought strawberry seedlings from Shandong and began to raise seedlings. every morning, she arrived at the base at five or 06:00 and went home at about ten o'clock in the evening. Her heart was filled with joy as she watched the seedlings grow up day by day. It took her three months to level the land, install water pipes, purchase steel pipes, decorate greenhouse film, and bury drip irrigation. She traveled thousands of miles back and forth to buy back materials and build 67 greenhouses, but she became black and thin. Mother said distressed: "look at you thin Li Niang dare not recognize!"

However, there are unexpected events in the sky. In November 2009, a sudden heavy snow made the strawberry greenhouse collapse, crooked, her heart was so wrenched that she almost burst into tears. But as soon as she gritted her teeth, she decided to lead the workers to carry out production self-help, and strive to minimize the loss. After several days of hard work, strawberry sheds finally stood tenaciously in the cold wind.

In September 2010, a level 14 tornado and torrential rain rarely seen in years washed away dozens of strawberry seedlings just planted in the greenhouse. But none of these disasters knocked her down, and she dried her tears and started all over again.

Before the Spring Festival in 2011, strawberries were on the market, and people came and went in short supply in the strawberry orchard. The phone number for the order is non-stop. After two years of unremitting efforts, we have finally seen economic benefits.

Help the neighbors to get rich together

"A person who is rich is not rich. This is the real ability to make more people rich." This sentence is Lu Miaoxia's motto. In order to drive more villagers to get rich, Lu Miaoxia set up a professional cooperative for Beijing and Mencius planting in Mengjin County, and actively thought of ways for the villagers: those who have funds can contract land, build their own sheds, and manage them themselves; those without funds can rent large sheds in the park, and then give money when the greenhouses have benefits. We use the same brand, the same seedlings, the same technology, unified packaging, unified acquisition, unified sales. She has also provided more than 400,000 yuan of funds free of charge to help poor families build more than 40 greenhouses and help them embark on the road to prosperity.

Wang Wencan, a disabled family in Hebei Village, Baihe Township, is deaf and mute. In the past, they both earned some living expenses by going out to work. In 2011, with the help of Lu Miaoxia, they built 10 sheds. After the benefit, the two sons who went out to work were also called home to plant strawberries. Now their annual income is more than 300000. Wang Donghui of Hexi Village used to earn money by going out to work. Since 2011, with the help of Lu Miaoxia, he has leased 100 mu of land and built 40 greenhouses. "now you can make a lot of money on your doorstep, and you don't have to suffer outside anymore," he said.

Lu Miaoxia also spent more than 100,000 yuan from her income to support the start-up of university student village officials in Baihe Town. Driven by her, the average annual income of farmers around her has reached 100000 to 300000 yuan. Due to the growing number of farmers and the need for technical guidance, she set up Xiaguang Agricultural skills training School in Mengjin County to provide technical support to farmers.

In order to help more disabled people get rich and get rid of poverty, she also held three professional skills training courses for the surrounding disabled people, trained 150 trainees, and conducted systematic training in planting theory and practice, so that these disabled people have mastered the ability to become rich. Her deeds have been affirmed by the China disabled Persons' Federation, and the training school has been named as a vocational training normal base for the disabled by the China disabled Persons' Federation. It has two training classrooms, a large dining room that can accommodate more than 300 people, a practice base, a rehabilitation room for the disabled, a love book and other facilities, and has trained more than 3000 people in breeding techniques.
