Last Updated: 2024/09/19, Chen Jiangqi: sheep are the treasure of getting rid of poverty in my family.

"our goats began to make lamb cakes a few years ago, and now they have given birth to more than 50 goats. In a few months, they will all be able to go out of the fence." Chen Jiangqi, a poor household in Xinshe Village, Hongjing Township, Licheng County, happily expressed his inner joy.

In July 2016, with the help of the Hongjing township government and the village poverty alleviation team, Chen Jiangqi successfully borrowed 50,000 yuan from the Licheng County Postal savings Bank to help the poor, bought 100 goats, and started his business road of raising goats.

The picture shows: Chen Jiangqi is in the sheepfold thinking about his next way to get rich.

Chen Jiangqi, 52, has a family of three. His daughter works away from home all the year round. He and his wife work at home with their 3-year-old grandson. Because they have no financial resources, his family has become one of the 14 poor families in the village. He was originally a resident of a remote and closed mountain village in Hongjing Township. In 2016, with the help of poverty alleviation policy, the whole village was relocated and merged with Nanshe Village into the present Xinshe Village. At the end of the year, the whole family not only successfully took off their poverty "hats" and lived in a two-story small foreign building, but also was rated as a "demonstration household to start a business and become rich in the county." the secretary of the county party committee personally awarded them a bonus of 20000 yuan.

On the morning of February 28, when the reporter saw him, he and his wife were taking care of the sheepfold with their little grandson. "raising goats is a relatively hard and tedious work. I can't be idle all day, and there is always endless work to do." Chen Jiangqi said that since he began to raise goats, after getting up every morning, he would first put the sheep from the cave to the loose pen outside and feed them with fodder. after breakfast, he would go up the mountain and cut pine branches to prepare the lamb for food. because now the grass has not come up, the lamb can only eat this to satisfy his hunger. When I came back, I had to help my wife collect corn straw and clean the sheepfold for the sheep. I didn't have a rest all morning.

Raising goats is a relatively messy business, so Chen Jiangqi raised the sheep in the old village. For convenience, he and his wife moved back to that dilapidated courtyard and began a happy life of raising and starting their own businesses.

After 12:00 at noon, after tidying up the sheepfold, the couple went home with their little grandson to prepare lunch. Instead of waiting while his wife was cooking, he took a liter of salt and sprinkled it on the roadside stone as the sheep passed by. "when sheep eat some salt, they like to eat grass and drink water, so they are not easy to get sick." Chen Jiangqi said that sheep, like people, have to adjust their taste after a period of time, so that they don't eat dirt.

"baa baa", sheep who want to look for food on the hillside, keep calling their owners. After lunch, Chen Jiangqi began his loneliest and most unrestrained work of the day-herding sheep. He skillfully took the hand whip and drove more than 100 goats up the mountain, humming songs incessantly, "people say that Shanxi has good scenery and the land is rich and beautiful."... "

"although raising sheep is tired, it is relatively free. It is not as slow as working for others, and my income is quite considerable. My sheep scale is growing day by day, and my income is getting more and more every year. I expect to earn about 20,000 yuan this year. Next year, it will reach more than 30,000 yuan. All this is thanks to the good policy of the government and the help of the county government, township government and village poverty alleviation teams." Chen Jiangqi said happily.

At the gracious invitation of Master Chen, the reporter and his entourage visited his new home in Xinshe Village. Upstairs and downstairs, the 130-square-meter small building is spacious and bright, and the home TV, refrigerator, and washing machine are all complete, although the decoration is simple, but it outlines a warm picture, thus reflecting the happy and happy life of 39 people from 14 families in Xinshe village after they have lifted themselves out of poverty and become rich.
