The villager's name is Li Chunshan and he is 41 years old. It is said that he has feelings, because he is a farmer with a dream of planting, and he hopes to turn his orchard into a tropical orchard with luxuriant flowers and fruits, and realize the fragrance of southern fruits in Longkou.

A career change from a fruit vendor to a new farmer

The reporter walked into Li Chunshan's greenhouse and he was cleaning up the branches and buds of the dragon fruit. He said that there are nearly 4000 dragon fruit trees here, and he would turn around in the greenhouse every day. He knows the situation of the fruit trees like the back of his hand and has a deep affection for the orchard. Talking about why he planted so many dragon fruits, Li Chunshan said that it originated from his dream of the south.

In his early years, Li Chunshan was a fruit vendor, mainly selling fruits in the south. After investigating the fruit markets in Qingdao, Zibo, Yantai and other places, he found that southern fruits have great development prospects in Longkou and will become a hot spot for citizens' consumption in the future. The fragrance of melons and fruits in southern orchards made him linger. In 2015, Li Chunshan decided to change careers and invest more than 1 million yuan to build a greenhouse in the south of Majia Village, Lutou Town, and began to grow red dragon fruits imported from Taiwan.

In order to grow dragon fruit well, Li Chunshan paid a lot of money to buy the top seedlings. As soon as he had time, he went to the main producing areas of dragon fruit in Guangdong Province to learn from teachers and learn the most advanced planting and management experience from local farmers.

Li Chunshan, who had just changed careers, was full of enthusiasm, but he was doused with cold water. In the winter of 2015, due to the great temperature difference between the north and the south and the lack of warm measures, more than 400 dragon fruit seedlings in the greenhouse froze to death, resulting in a direct loss of more than 10,000 yuan. Li Chunshan was hit by the accident, but with the encouragement of his family, he rekindled his fighting spirit and learned from it. At the beginning of 2016, he improved the measures to keep warm in the greenhouse, installed boilers and artificially increased the temperature in low temperature weather to prevent frostbite of seedlings. Since then, the freezing to death of seedlings has never happened again.

In planting, Li Chunshan is also more careful, constantly learning experience from various professional planting websites and technical discussion groups. In order to better exchange his experience of growing fruits in the south, Li Chunshan changed his name of Wechat to "Mr. Nanguo". Compared with the non-local fire dragon fruit sold on the market, his fire dragon fruit is large, juicy and sweet, and is favored by the picking citizens. It sells for 30 to 35 yuan per jin.
