Zhao Chengyi said that before raising ostriches, he worked in the construction industry and accumulated a certain amount of capital. In 2012, when he was looking for business opportunities with his relatives and friends, he learned that the ostrich breeding industry was very popular in the mainland. * there were already two small enterprises in the mainland, but because the quantity was rare, the market was very good. "an ostrich egg sold for more than 200 yuan. A kilogram of ostrich meat is also sold for 120 yuan." he calculated that an adult ostrich weighs about 100 kilograms and produces 50 to 80 eggs a year. If the farming goes well, the cost can be recovered after a year.

After several inspections, Zhao Chengyi finally decided to develop the ostrich breeding industry. He and his relatives and friends invested millions of yuan to build the largest ostrich breeding and incubation base in Bazhou, with a total area of 6767 square meters.

After that, Zhao Chengyi introduced 50 ostriches from an ostrich breeding enterprise in northern Xinjiang. After starting breeding, he found that ostrich breeding was not as smooth as he expected. "Ostrich eggs are OK. Each can sell for more than 200 yuan, but not many people buy ostrich meat, and the survival rate of young ostriches is not very high." in the first two years, he has been relying on selling ostrich eggs to recover the cost. It was not until 2014, when he learned the experience of ostrich farming and was able to hatch ostriches in batches, that his income began to increase significantly.

"the main reason is that ostrich eggs are easier to sell, and most of the buyers are restaurant owners and people who want to taste fresh." He says that now ostrich eggs have gone from door-to-door sales to door-to-door bookings. In the past two years, there have been more people raising ostriches, and the price of young ostriches is also gradually rising. "A five-month-old ostrich has risen from more than 1000 yuan to 2000 to 3000 yuan." he says that some people buy it for breeding and breeding, and some people buy it just to watch it in farm or tourism bases. at present, most of these chicks are sold to Kashgar, Hotan, Aksu and Urumqi.
