Liu Yanhong: "Cooperative Rock and Roll" of vegetables in greenhouse
Liu Yanhong is picking tomatoes.
Liu Yanhong lives in Nanzhangzhuang Village, Rengezhuang Town, Fengrun District, Tangshan City. Like all peasant girls, she is hardworking and simple and hard-working. But unlike others, she dares to innovate, have ideas, and dare to practice.
In 2002, few villagers in Nanzhangzhuang planted greenhouse vegetables, and the annual income per mu was only about 1000 yuan. Under the leadership of Liu Yanhong, the villagers planted a large area of greenhouse vegetables, and the annual income per mu increased by 30 times.
Today, standing in the south of Nanzhangzhuang Village, hundreds of vegetable greenhouses are continuous, shining silver and full of vitality in the sun. With the support of the villagers, Liu Yanhong also set up a professional cooperative for vegetable growers in Xinlinyuan to lead the villagers to become rich together.
With some ideas, the couple went back to their hometown to grow greenhouse vegetables.
Liu Yanhong, not tall, with short hair and dark skin, smiled at the corner of her mouth as soon as she met her.
This is the first impression left by 42-year-old Liu Yanhong to the reporter, a very ordinary peasant woman, can not see that she is the head of the cooperative.
Originally, Liu Yanhong and her husband opened a processing plant in Changping, Beijing, producing wood heating covers, aluminum wall corners and other decorative materials. Once, Liu Yanhong went to the vegetable market in Changping to buy vegetables, and a conversation with vegetable vendors gave her the idea of growing vegetables in the greenhouse.
"when I went shopping, I heard that the vendor's accent was from Tangshan, so I had a few more words with them. The vendors said that all their tomatoes were shipped from Tangshan. I remember that the tomatoes he sold at that time were 60 to 70 cents more expensive than those in our hometown, and the price was relatively high. I think if I can go back to my hometown to grow tomatoes and ship them to Beijing to sell, there must be a great market. " Liu Yanhong recalled that because of that idea, when she got home, she persuaded her husband to give up the small processing factory that she had been running for four years and go home to build a greenhouse and grow tomatoes. "at that time, our children were about to go to primary school, and the old people in the family were getting older and older, and we had been drifting away all the time, and it was not convenient for us to take care of the family, so our husband agreed at that time."
In 2002, Liu Yanhong and her husband returned to Nanzhangzhuang Village, Fengrun District, Tangshan City. They saw the broad prospect of greenhouse vegetables and resolutely invested 150000 yuan to build three greenhouses on two mu of land.
"We have never grown greenhouse vegetables. We have no experience at all. It is very difficult to start. The most difficult thing is that we do not know the technology. In the first two years, my husband and I went to the major vegetable markets in Beijing and Tianjin to see what kind of tomatoes were the most popular in the market. after tasting the taste of other people's tomatoes, and comparing our own tomatoes, we found that the gap was too big. we must improve our varieties and improve our technology. " Liu Yanhong said that in order to break through the technical problems and grow tomatoes with good taste and good taste, she began to study everywhere.
"at first, I bought some books on greenhouse vegetable management, asked the old growers for advice, and went to Shandong to learn planting techniques." Liu Yanhong said, "in the third year in the greenhouse, the tomatoes we planted were finally recognized by the market." Now, the tomatoes we grow are round in shape, bright in appearance, sour, sweet and delicious, juicy and easy to sell. "
Liu Yanhong said that in that year, the net income of the tomatoes she planted in the greenhouse reached 30,000 yuan. Later, after several years of development, she mastered the management technology of greenhouse vegetables, growing vegetables of higher quality and more and more income.
Go to the market, sell little by little
"in the year when we just planted tomatoes in the greenhouse, there were still very few farmers in and around the village, and the vegetables were basically sent to some small vegetable markets around Fengrun District, which not only failed to sell at a good price, but also prone to unsalable sales." Liu Yanhong said.
Having mastered the greenhouse planting technology, the taste and appearance of her tomatoes have also been recognized by the market. Next, Liu Yanhong began to find more and better markets for the greenhouse vegetables in the village. To this end, she began to go to Beijing, Tianjin and other places, looking for a larger wholesale market, hoping to find a stable market for greenhouse vegetables in the village.
"the market is coming out bit by bit. At first, I took my tomatoes to the vegetable markets in Beijing and Tianjin to find vendors to taste them. After being recognized by others, I would talk about long-term cooperation. After all these years, there is a stable market at last. " Liu Yanhong said.
It is now mid-April, and in another ten and a half days, the tomatoes in the greenhouse in Nanzhangzhuang village will ripen at the beginning of May. At this time of year, Liu Yanhong calls the vendors in the wholesale market, and then there is a lively scene of buying and selling vegetables in the greenhouse in Nanzhangzhuang.
Liu Yanhong is explaining pollination knowledge to the farmers participating in the cooperative.
Get rich together and lead the villagers to set up cooperatives
When selling tomatoes, Liu Yanhong found that the products of the cooperative sold well. As a result, in January 2015, she founded a professional cooperative for vegetable growers in Xinlinyuan and registered the trademark "Xinlinyuan".
In the early days of the establishment of the cooperative, only a dozen households joined. Liu Yanhong said, "No one knows what a cooperative is, nor do they know what the benefits of joining a cooperative are. I will introduce it to them bit by bit and tell them that if they unify the trademark and packaging, they can sell for more money. "
Under the mobilization of Liu Yanhong, the number of members of Xin Linyuan vegetable growing farmers' professional cooperative reached 73. Technically, Liu Yanhong provided "nanny" service, paid more than 20,000 yuan out of her own pocket, organized more than 60 members to study in Shandong, hired experts from the Beijing Academy of Agricultural Sciences to teach, used soil testing formula to provide suitable fertilizers for members, and purchased agricultural materials uniformly to reduce production costs. In addition, due to the shortage of funds for members, Liu Yanhong will also lend a helping hand. When member Zhu Xuegang was short of funds for the construction of the greenhouse, Liu Yanhong immediately sent 10,000 yuan to meet the urgent needs.
Due to the excellent quality of the vegetable products of the cooperative, Liu Yanhong also has a fixed dealer. As long as they meet the requirements of green products, members can use the trademark and packaging of the cooperative, and the cooperative can guarantee the market. Liu Yanhong said, "now, we just put money in, and we have to pay dividends to the members even if there are profits in the future." When it comes to the future of the cooperative, she is full of longing.
"Yanhong knows technology, can manage, and has a market, so there is something to look forward to following her! I planted two mu of tomatoes in a greenhouse. After joining the cooperative, I spent less, had fewer diseases and insect pests, increased output, increased market prices, and increased my income by more than 3000 yuan per mu. Our pockets are bulging, thanks to Yanhong! " A member mentioned Liu Yanhong and the cooperative, full of praise.
At present, Liu Yanhong's cooperative has 73 members, 262 greenhouses, covering an area of 230 mu, increasing the income of farmers by more than 700,000 yuan. "the market for tomatoes this year is not as good as last year, but it's okay to earn 15000 yuan in one shed. Persimmons are picked and planted with cucumbers and beans. The five greenhouses cover an area of only 3.5mu, and the annual income can reach 100000 yuan!" Liu Yanhong said happily.
