From November 9 to 10, the 13th annual meeting of the Chinese Society for Food Science and Technology was held in Beijing. Luo Yunbo, a professor at China Agricultural University, pointed out in his speech that China's food industry needs to actively go abroad with the help of the "Belt and Road Initiative" strategy to promote the healthy development of food trade at home and abroad.

"Food is the most important thing for the people. Whether it is the countries along the Silk Road or China, there is a huge market for food." Luo Yunbo said that China is constantly looking for new development opportunities in the "Belt and Road Initiative" strategy, and it is also an once-in-a-lifetime historical opportunity for the food industry to "go global." under the current wave of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation", we need to have the courage to innovate and go abroad.

Luo Yunbo believes that the food industry still faces many challenges in "going out", including the imperfect supporting links for China's foreign investment, the need for food production technology and product standards to be in line with international standards, and the need to understand the full control standard system of poems in the destination country. In addition, it may also face political risks, natural risks, market risks and local social and environmental risks.

Luo Yunbo said that it is still necessary to take innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing as the concept of development, and through the drive of "Belt and Road Initiative" to solve the high cost and low grade of agricultural products and food in our country, and it is difficult to meet the needs of social consumption. lack of external competitiveness and other problems, to promote industrial transformation, adjustment and upgrading So as to change the sharp contradiction between the surplus of agricultural products and a large number of imports, low product efficiency and unsustainable development.

"the 'Belt and Road Initiative' strategy provides an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for China's food industry. Chinese food has the assurance to go out, has the ability to go longer and further, and has the confidence to make greater contributions to China's economic development and take-off." Luo Yunbo said.
