What kind of plant depends on the market to save money depends on cooperation
During the autumn harvest season, the reporter met Diao Jianjun, a big grain grower in Diaozhuang Village, Xinhua Office in Linqing City, Shandong Province.
Last year, when corn prices went down, Diao Jianjun sold hundreds of mu of corn as silage corn to the local Runlin animal husbandry company. Others lost money on corn growing and selling corn, but he made more than 70,000 yuan. How is the harvest of Diao Jianjun's family this year? In the clean and spacious courtyard of Diao Jianjun's house, he talked about his experience of growing grain.
Selling silage makes more money than selling grain.
"the market this year is a little worse than last year, but I still made money." Diao Jianjun said that when the corn was just harvested this year, the market price was not satisfactory. According to the market price of about 81 cents per jin of corn kernels, it is certain to lose money. But if you sell silage corn, you can still make money.
"Last year, silage corn was 15 cents per jin, and this year it is 12 cents. Last year, my 190 mu of silage corn earned 70,000 yuan; this year, the price is low, 500 mu of silage corn earned 50,000 yuan. The reason for the low price of silage corn is that people see that silage corn makes money, and if it is planted more, the price will naturally fall. "
Although Diao Jianjun made less money than last year, Diao Jianjun is still very contented, because he is also a big grain grower. Lu Xitao of Chenguanying Village, Daiwan Town, has transferred 2000 mu of land. This year, he planted all the corn, but lost about 100 yuan per mu.
Asked why he lost money, Diao Jianjun told reporters that it was mainly because he had not made up his mind at the beginning. To grow corn, if you are determined to sell silage corn, you should plant it closely; if you sell ordinary corn, you should plant it at normal row spacing. Lu Xutao had no close planting and sold it as silage corn, resulting in a loss of money. If it is sold as ordinary corn, it will lose more money.
As a result, Diao Jianjun has come to the conclusion that aquaculture is being developed not only in Linqing City, but also in many parts of the country. The stock of livestock in Linqing has greatly increased, and there is a great demand for silage. Take Runlin animal husbandry as an example, 20 mu of silage will be consumed every day. Not only this year, but also to grow silage corn in the future, there will still be money.
It is cheaper to find a cooperative for farm work.
In agriculture, large investment, long cycle and slow results are headaches for many large grain growers. Many large grain growers have to withdraw because they invest too much and finally break the capital chain. Diao Jianjun avoided this problem, and his way was to work and find a co-operative.
Diao Jianjun said that in order to save costs, he has reached cooperation agreements with many cooperatives: except for irrigation facilities, such as drilling wells, stringing lines, and submersible pumps, they must invest their own money to buy them, and the rest will find professional cooperatives.
If you buy fertilizer and find a professional agricultural cooperative, the price is cheap and the quality is guaranteed; seeds are delivered to your door by the seed cooperative to ensure quality and quantity. Sowing, looking for professional cooperatives, the cooperatives provide sowing equipment and manpower to provide "through-train" services; the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests are handled manually by specialized cooperatives; and harvesting is still taken care of by professional cooperatives.
"although cooperatives are invited to pay for the use of labor and equipment, it is much more cost-effective to rent than to easily buy tens of thousands of agricultural equipment and invest manpower and material resources in maintenance and maintenance."
In this regard, the Linqing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture Wei Lijun said: "at present, the total amount of agricultural machinery equipment in Linqing City has continued to grow at a high speed year after year, and the number of large and medium-sized tractors and combine harvesters has reached 4332 and 3315 respectively. With the increasing scale of land transfer, farmers' professional cooperatives continue to emerge. now there are 1365 registered farmers' cooperatives in the city, with 42 more registered in 2016, which provides the basis for specialized services. Large grain growers save money and cooperatives make money, which is not only a "win-win" for farmers, but also a guarantee for the modernization of agriculture. "
No matter what you plant, you'd better have an order.
Diao Jianjun already has a good idea of what to plant after the corn harvest.
"this year, 440 mu of my 500 mu of land grows high-quality wheat, 30 mu of green onions and 30 mu of garlic. In addition, this year, together with several farmers, I have transferred 6000 mu of land in several nearby villages, and all of them have planted high-quality wheat. After harvest, the high-quality wheat planted is sold to a flour mill in Gaotang at a price of 5 cents per jin higher than the market, which has been contracted. "
Grain prices fluctuate and show a downward trend, how to ensure that farming does not lose money but also make money, Diao Jianjun learned a truth from practice: one is to grow high-quality grain, and the other is to cooperate with large companies.
Diao Jianjun said that this year, more than 6000 mu of wheat planted are of high quality and strong gluten. "now, high-quality flour is popular, and the demand of flour enterprises for high-quality wheat is rising, so we have signed a contract with flour processing enterprises in advance to buy high-quality wheat at a higher than market price, reducing the risk and ensuring the supply of high-quality wheat."
"flour companies are also willing to sign contracts with big grain growers like us, because only by planting wheat in a square can we ensure the purity of wheat pollination and ensure wheat varieties. Otherwise, one piece in the east and one in the west will become hybrid varieties with different varieties, and the quality will not be guaranteed. " Diao Jianjun said.
Growing onions and garlic is to spread the risk. Diao Jianjun said: "the labor cost of growing garlic and onions is very high, but the price is unpredictable and may be ridiculously high. Even if the price is low, it will not be too low."
