College student village officials raise native chickens under the forest to drive villagers out of poverty and become rich
Wang Jiaohu, a post-80s college student village official in Jifei Town, Changning County, Yunnan Province, started with a loan of 100000 yuan to develop under-forest breeding, and led 159 villagers to join breeding cooperatives. Through the development of ecological breeding, villagers really achieved sustainable poverty alleviation, and set an example for college student village officials.
In spring, Jifei Mountain in Baotang Village, Jifei Town, Changning County, blossoms in spring. The poultry breeding cooperative of Wang Jiaohu, an official of the university student village, is located on this hill. before entering the farm, the sound of chickens can be heard from afar. "the price of native eggs has been rising this year, and the market is in short supply." Wang Jiaohu said that the cooperative has just signed a contract with an enterprise in Kunming to sell native chickens and eggs.
"it can be said that it is a coincidence to do an ecological chicken raising project under the forest." Wang Jiaohu said that as a university student village official, he has always wanted to do something to reflect his value, but has been unable to find a suitable entry point. In 2015, when the poverty alleviation campaign in Changning County kicked off, Wang Jiaohu was transferred to the Baotang Village Committee of Jifei Town to work. Once, when he was passing the Ji Fei villagers Group of the Baotang Village Committee, he was startled by a chicken flying out of the roadside woods. Upon inquiry, he learned that this kind of chicken could fly 20 to 30 meters. Wang Jiaohu was immediately inspired: now that people pursue an ecologically healthy diet, there should be a big market for flying chickens.
Since then, after field investigation, Wang Jiaohu looked for relevant breeding materials, initially formed the idea of the ecological breeding project under the forest, and reported to the party committee and government of Jifei Town. With the support of the party committee and government leaders. After careful planning, Wang Jiaohu set up a professional cooperative and transferred more than 200 mu of mountains and forests from the villagers, taking the lead in breeding. Cooperatives adopt the organic combination of unified seed and seedling supply, unified construction standards, unified epidemic prevention and control, unified recovery of finished products, unified brand building, unified technical services, and household aquaculture, so as to find a way to integrate production, supply and marketing. Today, the cooperative has 159 members, radiation drives farmers in villages and towns such as Chicken Fei and Wengding to breed. Last year, the cooperative sold more than 6000 adult chickens, sold 75000 native eggs and distributed 36000 young chickens, with an output value of more than 1 million yuan.
Overcome the difficulties with the change of "chicken"
Due to its high quality and strong market recognition, Wang Jiaohu's "Flying Chicken" farming cooperative became famous in a short period of more than a year. However, the road to entrepreneurship is not plain sailing.
Wang Jiaohu said that at the beginning of the establishment of the breeding base, he relied on borrowing funds, touching technology, breaking the market, and squeezing time, and finally clenched his teeth for a year before he broke through the difficulties. At the beginning of the construction of the farm, Wang Jiaohu started with a loan of 100000 yuan. he thought he should be able to put into production after putting it into operation, but he did not realize that the money was almost spent before the land transfer, the initial construction of the site, the purchase of vehicles, and the introduction of chicken seedlings were completed, so he had to make another loan and borrow money from relatives and friends. 400000 yuan has been raised to continuously improve facilities and expand production.
"compared with the financial difficulties, the technical difficulties are the biggest." Wang Jiaohu said that while relying on the strength of the animal husbandry and veterinary department, he gave full play to the advantages of graduating from Agricultural University, sought lessons from alumni and teachers, and constantly combined with practice to make up for his deficiencies.
"on two occasions, I almost couldn't hold on." Wang Jiaohu said that on one occasion, hundreds and a half of chickens died because they did not master the breeding technology when the farm was first built, and on the other hand, more than 1800 chickens died because of poor technology when entering the fry. With the help of relevant experts from Yunnan Agricultural University, Wang Jiaohu finally found the reason. He said that these two things made him more and more aware of the importance of technology. He not only summed up his own efforts, but also trained a full-time technician to provide technical services for the members and the people around him.
Rural e-commerce platform for sales
"to achieve long-term benefits, we cannot only focus on immediate interests." Wang Jiaohu said that since the establishment of the cooperative, it has always regarded quality as its pursuit and adhered to the path of ecology and standardization. In the chicken quality assurance, adhere to do not add any feed, pure ecological stocking, full age of more than 10 months before sale. For the chickens raised by the members, he made an agreement in advance that they would not be sold if they were not raised according to the standard. He also has strict standards for eggs, that is, those who do not meet the packing standards will never pack them. Wang Jiaohu believes that he would rather lose some of the immediate gains than do things that affect long-term development.
In March this year, Wang Jiaohu, together with five other people from different industries, won the first "Xingchang Talent Award" in Changning County and received a bonus of 40,000 yuan after tax. Wang Jiaohu did not use the bonus to pay off the debt, let alone spend it, but spent most of it on public welfare undertakings. Among them, 7000 yuan was invested to build an activity venue for the natural village next to the farm, 10, 000 yuan was donated to Jifei Middle School to reward outstanding students and support students with difficulties, and 5000 yuan was reserved for giving students' school supplies to the primary school at the end of the village on June 1.
For the future, Wang Jiaohu said that in the future, he will improve and stabilize the market of chicken and egg products, build cold storage on this basis, and develop in the direction of chilled chicken. At the same time, the development of characteristic agricultural products in mountain areas, the formation of a series of products, the use of rural Taobao, rural e-commerce and other platforms to form an online and offline sales network system. Through the development of ecological industry, villagers can achieve sustainable poverty alleviation and prosperity.
