Recently, Wei Chenglin, a science and technology demonstration household in Longwan Town, stopped a brand-new pickup truck in front of his home, attracting neighbors to watch. Wei Chenglin said with a smile that the shrimp harvest season is coming soon, and the purpose of buying a pickup truck is to facilitate the transportation of shrimp to Zhang Jin's contracting base.

Wei Chenglin told reporters that in addition to 60 mu of shrimp and rice fields in Huangqiao Village, 270 mu of land was contracted in Zhangjin Town in the second half of 2013, bringing the total area of shrimp and rice cultivation to 330 mu and an annual net income of more than 1 million.

Unintentionally planting willow, fishing and shrimp fishing to find business opportunities.

Wei Chenglin is the second group of people in Huangqiao Village, Longwan Town. Due to the large number of people in his family and little land, he is guarding more than 10 mu of thin fields, and his life is stretched. In order to change the current situation of his family, Wei Chenglin successively built chicken farms and pig farms around 2000. At the same time, he often went to the river to fish to subsidize his family. It was this occasional fishing that enabled the lively Wei Chenglin to explore the potential market and changed the life of this ordinary farmer.

It turned out that when Wei Chenglin was fishing, he often caught crayfish of different sizes. At that time, crayfish with large sizes could be sold for three or four yuan per jin, while small ones sold for only thirty cents. He calculated that his family had a small fish pond with an area of one mu, and if the small shrimp caught were put into the fish pond to be fed and sold, it would add a lot of value.

So, from the early summer of 2004, he put the shrimp he caught in the fish pond. When he sold the crayfish that year, the crayfish sold for more than 2000 yuan, which was a lot of income at that time. The act of inadvertently planting willows inspired him to concentrate on raising shrimp. He learned that from the beginning of raising shrimp in rice fields in Jiyukou town, he made a special trip for advice. After returning to Huangqiao Village, he completely closed the pig farm, used his contracted land to exchange 60 mu of cold soaked fields with his villagers, and began to grow rice and raise shrimps, all of which he caught from the ditches. That year, Wei Chenglin earned nearly 100000 yuan from selling rice and crayfish.

The next year, his neighbors saw that he often dragged shrimp on a motorcycle, and when he came back, he always had an income of thousands of yuan, and he could easily earn more than 100,000 yuan a year. They realized that they could not make a fortune by farming alone, and even villagers Li Dejin and Huang Dong, who were originally dismissive of shrimp farming, came to ask for advice.

Today, 43 households in the second group of farmers in Huangqiao Village have dug shrimp ponds to raise shrimp in rice fields, and villagers in nearby villages such as Zhuchang Village, Frozen Qingyi Village and Xiongkou Town have also followed suit. According to Wei Chenglin's rough estimate, at present, there are more than 150 shrimp farmers in rice fields around Huangqiao Village.

The vision is far-sighted, and the benefit of scientific cultivation is doubled.

Although Wei Chenglin has only a junior high school education, he is willing to learn and is good at delving into new technologies. After years of touching, crawling and rolling, we have mastered a set of mature techniques for raising shrimp in rice fields. Every time the city organizes training in crayfish farming techniques and the cultivation of new professional farmers, he never leaves behind. By taking part in the training, he broadened his horizons and made him deeply feel that "science and technology is productivity."

During the study tour of crayfish farming organized by the city's agricultural department, Wei Chenglin found that the yield of crayfish was about 200 jin per mu, while some farmers had a yield of 400 jin per mu. After visiting and inquiring, he found that the high-yielding farmers had adopted the new technology of "shrimp-rice co-cropping", while he still stuck to the rules and followed the "shrimp-rice continuous cropping" model. After going back, he soon improved the 60-mu shrimp rice field and adopted "shrimp-rice co-cropping" to increase the crayfish yield to 400 jin per mu.

Wei Chenglin calculated that his crayfish production reached 24000 jin that year, with a sales income of 312000 yuan. The output value per mu is 5200 yuan, the net income is 240000 yuan, and the net income of Mu Ping is 4000 yuan.

In addition to working hard on aquaculture technology, Wei Chenglin also uses his brains to save money. In order to reduce the cost, he prepared his own shrimp feed. The animal feed for crayfish began to use snails, clams and relatively low-cost silver carp and wild miscellaneous fish. It was found that some people used pig lungs to process and cultivate black fish. So starting from 2013, he went to Henan Shuanghui Company to purchase pig lungs in the off-season, rented cold storage and processing in Xiongkou management area, and used pig lungs as animal bait to feed crayfish, which alone could save nearly 20,000 yuan in feed expenses.

The noble style drives the neighbors to go to the rich road together.

In recent years, Wei Chenglin has been worrying about expanding the scale of farming. In the early summer of 2013, Wei Chenglin met Deng Yemao of 10 groups in Liuting he Village, Zhangjin Town. Deng Yemao told him that he still had a few hundred mu of idle fish pond in Zhang Jin's hometown, which he could rent to him, and the two sides hit it off. Wei Chenglin and Deng Yemao signed a five-year contract to lease 270 mu of fish ponds.

Wei Chenglin hired three local villagers to concentrate on growing shrimp and rice, while he focused on technical guidance and sales.

At the end of 2013, Wei Chenglin learned that some people in Frozen Qingyi Village began to explore the intensive culture model of crayfish. If this kind of culture does not grow rice, and if hot water grass is planted in shrimp ponds, the listing time of crayfish can be postponed to November. The time difference can be skillfully hit to make money, and the income is higher. The highest net income per mu can reach more than 6000 yuan. After returning from the classics, he transformed the 90-mu shrimp pond and began the experiment of intensive shrimp culture, while the remaining 180 mu of fields continued to co-cultivate shrimp and rice. In 2014, he harvested more than 300,000 jin of rice, only rice income reached 400000 yuan, plus crayfish income, the net income of nearly 1 million yuan.

One person who gets rich leads one side. Wei Chenglin became rich, but he did not forget the villagers and taught unreservedly to the villagers who had technical demands from him. Driven by him, Huangqiao Village quickly set off an upsurge of shrimp farming. In 2011, a professional crayfish farming cooperative was established in Huangqiao Village, with Wei Chenglin as its president. He enthusiastically helped the members to arrange and solve the crayfish seedlings nearby; organized the members to exchange breeding techniques with each other; and sold commercial shrimp centrally, all of which were free of charge. Crayfish industry has become a pillar industry for Wei Chenglin and Huangqiao villagers to increase their income and become rich. Many people have been lifted out of poverty as a result. Huang Anping, a villager of the second group in Huangqiao Village, was originally destitute. After a few years of shrimp farming with Wei Chenglin, he completely changed the face of poverty.

After Wei Chenglin went to Zhangjin Town to raise shrimp, he led more than 20 local farmers to raise shrimp. To this end, after winning the honorary title of "Science and Technology demonstration Household of National Agricultural Technology extension demonstration County" issued by the Provincial Agricultural Department, in February 2014, he was jointly awarded "Top Ten Science and Technology demonstration households of 2013" by the municipal party committee office and municipal government office. At the end of that year, he was awarded the honorable title of "2013 Agricultural Science and Technology extension Science and Technology demonstration Household" by the Provincial Agriculture Department.

Last year, Wei Chenglin expanded the area of intensive shrimp culture in Zhangjin Town Crayfish Culture Base, so that the area of intensive shrimp culture was equally equal to that of rice fields. At the end of the year, he calculated an account and his net income reached 1.2 million yuan. Recently, he invested 700000 yuan to buy two facade houses in the Jinjiang Xingcheng district of the garden city to set up a transfer station, ready to push the crayfish of cooperative members to the national market in bulk.
