In Dasi Village, Keku Township, Wenchuan County, which is 2200 meters above sea level, a pair of special father and son, 50-year-old Zhang Baojie, and their stepnephew Zhang Yu depend on each other.

Zhang Haojie suffered from polio caused by fever when he was young, leaving him with a disability. His nephew Zhang Yu inherited it to him from childhood. Over the years, father and son have lived a simple and miserable life.

Because of his physical disability, Zhang Haojie was unable to do heavy physical work, and the heavy work at home depended on the help of several brothers and sisters. Zhang Yu spends tens of thousands of yuan to go to school every year. Zhang Haojie and his family are listed as poor families in the village.

After the investigation and study of the tripartite working group supported by the Provincial Forestry Department, Zipingpu Development Company and Aba normal University, the poverty alleviation plan was tailored for Zhang Haojie. "the state has solved the minimum living security for us, and I also have living subsidies for the disabled, plus policy subsidies such as returning farmland to forests and ecological subsidies, which earns more than 7000 yuan a year." Zhang Haojie's life has changed a lot.

In his early years, Zhang Haojie made a living by growing potatoes, corn, cabbage and so on. In 2007, he planted more than 500 blue-red crispy plums on his land. In 2015, plums sold for just over 10,000 yuan.

Last year, the provincial forestry department sent technicians to teach Zhang Haojie plum cultivation and management techniques. "the agricultural technician taught me the techniques of fertilization, weeding, medicine and so on, which was very useful. Only then did I realize the importance of scientific planting. " Zhang Xiaojie said that the provincial forestry department also specially distributed plum fertilizer with soil testing formula for him.

The improvement of management technology has brought real benefits to Zhang Haojie. "our plums here are of good quality and taste, and businesses from other provinces drive directly to the village to order them, and there is no shortage of sales. Last year, my family sold 85000 yuan of plums. " Last year, Zhang Xiaojie also raised three pigs and sold them for 9000 yuan. His family's per capita net income reached more than 28000 yuan, successfully getting rid of poverty.

"the help unit also helped me apply for 6000 yuan of development funds for the Qinghong crispy plum project. In the past two years, I have planted more than 500 plum trees to expand the planting scale." Zhang Haojie said that five or six years later, when all the plum trees have lost their fruit, the annual income of green-red crispy plums will be nearly 300000 yuan.

Zhang Yu, 20, has graduated from school and returned to his hometown. Zhang Haojie hopes that he can stay at home, learn the techniques of fruit tree cultivation and management, and help manage the orchard.

"my uncle has always been very kind to me, but now he is getting older and older, and his legs are inconvenient. I can't leave him alone. Now, I come back to learn the skills from him and manage the orchard well. After two years, I made money, renovated the house, opened a racecourse, received tourists, realized my childhood dream, and let my uncle lead a good life. " The obedient and sensible Zhang Yu is now a good helper of Zhang Haojie.

"We have a good climate and plenty of sunshine here, which is suitable for plum trees to grow. In the future, we will manage the orchard well, and the days will certainly get better and better. " Zhang Haojie is looking forward to a happy life in the future.
