Out of sight, the kiwifruit orchard stretches its green vines, and a string of buds are budding. The fruit growers are sprouting and fertilizing in the garden, showing a busy scene.

The artificial planting area of kiwifruit in Dinghe Town, Xixia County has reached more than 25000 mu, and the output is expected to exceed 10,000 tons this year, with an output value of more than 100 million yuan. It is worth mentioning that the 10,000 mu kiwifruit ecological demonstration zone has also been named "Provincial Agricultural Science and Technology demonstration Park" by the Provincial Science and Technology Department, which is the only one in the city.

The rise of kiwifruit industry in Dinghe Town is inseparable from a person's efforts for 33 years. This man's name is Wang Longmin.

Take the lead in planting kiwifruit

"it will blossom by the end of April. It is necessary to prepare for flower and fruit thinning and artificial pollination as soon as possible." On April 12, in a kiwifruit orchard in Jian Village, Wang Longmin observed the growth of fruit trees and told several villagers.

Wang Longmin is from Wafang Village, Dinghe Town. In 1984, he was chosen by the masses as party branch secretary of Wafang Village. While building roads, electricity and schools, consider how to choose ways for the masses to get rich. In autumn, he walked around the mountain and happened to come across a wild kiwifruit tree. "at that time, the tree was full of green leaves and dense fruit below, and I fell in love with it at once." Wang Longmin said.

As a result, he began to consult relevant books and materials, and humbly learned the growth habits, management methods, technical processes and practical points of kiwifruit from kiwifruit expert Zhu Hongyun. The following year, he led the villagers to plant 400 mu of kiwifruit on the mountain. Three years later, these kiwifruit produced a bunch of fruit, and they sold it for more than 100,000 yuan at a time. It was an astronomical figure at that time!

Since then, Wafang Village has taken the lead in planting kiwifruit in Xixia County. In 1991, Wang Longmin heard a strange thing from an old farmer: the wild kiwi fruit thrown on the sand pile at home the previous year showed signs of sprouting in the spring. This "curiosity" inspired Wang Longmin: wild kiwifruit may be able to grow seedlings with seeds.

In 1991, Wang Longmin became a township cadre. That year, he successfully raised kiwifruit seedlings there for the first time with wild kiwifruit. "at that time, this mu of kiwifruit sold for 7000 yuan."

Kiwifruit Orchard "main Heart Bone"

After the success of kiwifruit artificial breeding, it coincides with the Xixia county party committee and county government to build a kiwifruit promenade along National Highway 312. Wang Longmin, then deputy mayor of Dinghe Town, saw the advantages of developing kiwifruit and was determined to guide the masses to plant them in succession. However, the villagers are not enthusiastic.

Wang Longmin put the first attack site in Jian Village. "I'll give you my guarantee when we start with you in our village." Villager Li Guangjie clearly remembers the scene when Wang Longmin advised him to grow kiwifruit.

"at that time, the wheat had already been planted in the field, and Lao Wang came and said he wanted to grow kiwifruit." Li Guangjie recalled that Wang Longmin calculated an account for him: growing wheat was only a round stomach, and he was busy with only a few thousand yuan a year; if he planted two or three mu of kiwifruit, he would have an annual income of 50,000 to 60,000 yuan in three to five years, more than ten times the income of crops.

Li Guangjie planted kiwifruit on his family's two mu of land, and as soon as he hung the fruit, he sold it for 12000 yuan, which made the people of Jian Village excited. In the end, all the 400 mu of riverside land in the village were planted with kiwifruit. After several years of development, the planting area of kiwifruit in Jiancun has reached 2200 mu, and 70% of it has entered the peak fruit period this year. Relying on kiwifruit, last year, Jian Village successfully took off the hat of a poor village, and the villagers all praised Wang Longmin's contribution. With the pilot project of Jian Village, when it was the spring of 2012, Lenovo Holdings Huaxia Liancheng Fruit Co., Ltd. wanted to focus on the development of kiwifruit in Dinghe, and they found Wang Longmin. After more than four months of painstaking work, he finally transferred 1200 mu of land for planting kiwifruit for Huaxia Liancheng Fruit Industry Co., Ltd. in Yidi Village, laying the foundation for the operation of Dinghe kiwifruit industry to enterprises and the transfer of large households. it has opened up a precedent for land transfer in Xixia.

At present, two 10,000 mu kiwifruit demonstration zones have been built in Dinghe Town. 24 of the 29 administrative villages in the town are specialized in kiwifruit cultivation. More than 60% of the farmers in the town grow kiwifruit, and more than 80% of the per capita net income comes from the kiwifruit industry.

Mass satisfaction is the standard

"if the masses are satisfied and believe you, everything will be easy to do!" Wang Longmin said.

In Jiancun, Fengshan, Beiyu, Wafang and other villages, no matter they are farmers in planting bases, members of kiwifruit cooperatives or businessmen from other places, Wang Longmin is mentioned with gratitude: "he is the 'backbone' of Dinghe kiwifruit orchard."

Wang Longmin first found the county peach office, through their bridge, Dinghe town introduced these high-quality varieties, in Fengshan, Chayu, Muzhai, Jian village four villages scale development of more than 1000 mu. The company signs sales agreements with farmers and carries out order operations, and the purchase price of these kiwifruit is much higher than the market price.

With the improvement of popularity, large kiwifruit growers from other places spent a lot of money to ask Wang Longmin to do technical guidance, but they were declined by him one by one. He said, "if a person wants to do one thing, my job is to do a good job of kiwifruit in Dinghe Town." Wang Longmin has served as secretary of the village party branch, director of township civil affairs, deputy mayor of the town, and deputy section-level cadres. He has held the post of associate science for nearly 20 years, and now he is about to retire, but he still runs about the fields with no regrets, always busy for the 30,000 fruit growers in Dinghe.

Last year, under the auspices of Wang Longmin, Dinghe Town completed the transformation of more than 2000 mu of wild kiwifruit in the northern mountainous area. Wang Longmin said, "Wild kiwifruit will be a new economic growth point for kiwifruit industry."
