Recalling that more than 30 years ago, Qiu Rumin resolutely decided to put down his whip and put on a beekeeping cap to become a busy beekeeper. Qiu Rumin encountered the most thorny problem is that beekeeping technology is difficult to break through. "A box of bees can only produce 15 to 20 grams of royal jelly in 72 hours. I think like everyone else every day, figuring out how to increase the output."

At that time, when he encountered a technical problem that he did not understand, he went to the bookstore or asked the technician in the town for an answer. In order to improve his beekeeping skills, he ran around, not knowing how many pairs of shoes he had worn out.

Finally, through continuous exploration, Qiu Rumin introduced the hybridization between Italian bee species and local bee species, through isolation mating, parent selection, establishment of breeding pedigree files and other innovative beekeeping techniques, and successfully selected a new strain of "Changxingyi bee". The yield of royal jelly per colony can be increased by about 20 times every 72 hours, the honey yield can be increased by 10%, and the economic benefits of bee farmers have been significantly improved.

In this seemingly ordinary post, Qiu Rumin is happy to innovate and develop beekeeping techniques, select advanced bee species in the world, fill the technological gaps, and increase production and efficiency of bee farmers across the country. The annual cultivation of 10, 000 queen bees can improve 500000 cases of low-yield and low-quality bee species in the country every year, directly increasing the benefit for the national bee farmers by 120 million yuan.... The species of "Changxingyi bee" is recognized at home and abroad, and the queen bee bred by him is also included in the category of national germplasm resources protection.

People often say that "life is as sweet as honey", but beekeeping is a technical and drudgery, but Qiu Rumin has been infatuated with it for 33 years. As he became more and more famous, Qiu Rumin realized that it was not enough to rely on his own strength alone to improve the efficiency, so he went to the Beekeeping Institute of Zhejiang University to consult beekeeping experts and professors. test sites have been set up in Anhui, Zhejiang, Shaanxi and other places, dozens or hundreds of times a year.

Led by him, more and more local farmers in Changxing County have joined the ranks of beekeeping, and batch after batch of bee farmers from all over the country have come to participate in beekeeping training courses. Qiu Rumin is always eager to impart his experience to bee farmers. In order to let more people master the technology of beekeeping, Qiu Rumin, with the strong support of the relevant units in Huzhou City, set up the apiculture teaching point of the Municipal Farmers' College.

In recent years, Qiu Rumin has taught the new technology of beekeeping at the invitation of agricultural departments in various parts of the province, and received more than 3000 beekeepers, guiding bee farmers to keep bees scientifically, developing more than 100 beekeepers and raising more than 20, 000 bees, thus opening a new way for farmers to increase agricultural efficiency.

The life of bees never stops, and Qiu Rumin is not idle for a moment. At present, Qiu Rumin is planning to build a "bee town": to build Changxingyi bee industry into the first comprehensive town in China that integrates bee culture science popularization, Italian bee pollination demonstration, bee therapy and health preservation, education and training, leisure and tourism.
