Mo Yaogang fed the original chicken.

"unexpectedly, the first time I sold 200 raw chickens, I earned more than 20,000 yuan, which exceeded my net income of working for a year." In early April this year, Li Changjun, a chicken farmer in Pingxi Village, Qinglong Township, Pingle County, said happily.

Last winter, four farmers in Pingxi village joined the original chicken breeding project and embarked on the road of original chicken breeding under the initiative of Mo Yaogang, an expert in original chicken breeding and secretary of the general branch of the village regiment. In the first quarter of this year, the total income of these four farmers selling 800 raw chickens was more than 80,000 yuan, successfully achieving the goal of getting rid of poverty and becoming rich. They were so overjoyed that they praised their "leading goose" Mo Yaogang to everyone.

The so-called "original chicken", that is, the wild ancestor of domestic chicken, is now a second-class protected animal in China. Raw chicken staple food grains, with ordinary feed plus grass, vegetable leaves can be fed, can be used in old houses, warehouses, such as captive or cage.

Mo Yaogang, 38, has short hair, dark skin and high spirits. When I first met him, he was busy feeding the white pheasant he raised. He says he has loved farming since he was a child. In 1998, he began raising pheasants on a small scale. However, due to the lack of experience in large-scale farming, he suffered the first setback in his breeding career at the very beginning. As a result, he was burdened with debt and was forced to work in Zhejiang to repay the debt.

However, he did not give up. After several years of going out to work and accumulating a certain amount of money, he returned to the village to start a business again. In 2010, Mo Yao just learned about the good prospects of Baiji pheasant farming on the network, so he worked hard to learn original chicken breeding and management techniques through distance education, and re-established the farm through loans from the National Youth Entrepreneurship support Fund and self-financing of more than 50,000 yuan. that year, 50 white pheasant seedlings were introduced from Zhejiang breeding company, and once again started to raise rare birds.

Where there's a will, there's a way. In 2015, he successfully obtained the first national second-class protected animal Baiji breeding qualification certificate in Guangxi, and registered and established Pingle Xinyuan rare Poultry breeding Co., Ltd. in 2016, embarking on the road of operation and management of aquaculture enterprises. Through several years of development, the scale of his original chicken farm has developed rapidly, with a total stock of more than 6000 feathers, including original chicken, native chicken, white chicken and so on. With his fingers, he calculated an account: there are 240caged white pheasants, with a breeder price of 500,800yuan per chicken, with a total value of 120000 to 192000 yuan, and a commercial white pheasant price of 350yuan per chicken, with a total value of about 35000 yuan. Coupled with the egg-laying and native chicken farming, the product value of the farm has exceeded 1 million yuan, and the annual net income has reached more than 500,000 yuan. Mo Yaogang has become a well-known young entrepreneur to become rich.

The first taste of success is full of confidence. However, while he was happy, Mo Yaogang was secretly worried. He said that at present, his farm is facing a big development bottleneck, that is, the number of cages is not high, can not adequately supply the market.

"in order to solve this problem, we must guide and organize everyone to develop together and take the road of scale development. At the same time, it is also my duty as a deputy to the National people's Congress to put more people on the road to becoming rich. " As a result, since last year, Mo Yao has just got up in the morning and dark, went from village to house to publicize the breeding technology to the villagers, and provided the masses with original chicken seedlings and technical support free of charge, and purchased commercial chickens at the agreed price to expand the scale of the cage. At the same time, he is also actively preparing for the establishment of original chicken farming cooperatives to attract more farmers to join and strive to achieve economies of scale.
