As the "head of the family" in the village, Tan Xiujing thinks about how to make people's lives better all the time. How to make the collective income of the village a little more?

Shortly after returning to the village, by chance, Tan Xiujing dug up 20 or 30 cherry seedlings from his neighbor's house and planted a lot of small cherries. He ate sweet and sour and delicious, and entertained the guests very well. Tan Xiujing's eyes lit up, planting cherries may become a way to help villagers get rich.

In 1989, the cannery sent some big cherry seedlings in the hope that the villagers would introduce them. However, without the experience of planting big cherries, the villagers were worried and no one dared to try.

He tried to plant 18 big cherries on the edge of the ground. at first, the big cherries didn't bear fruit for years. Tan Xiujing asked around, looking for a good way to grow them, and meticulous nursing made up his mind that he must plant a sample of big cherries and open up new ideas for the villagers to get rich.

Finally, five or six years later, the big cherry began to bear fruit. Full cherries hang on the green branches, and Tan Xiujing's heart is as sweet as honey.

Big cherries have a long ripening period and many varieties, and picking is easier than small cherries, so they are very popular as soon as they are on the market. Tan Xiujing immediately decided to plant all the 10 mu of land he had contracted in Wutongan Village with big cherries.

Seeing the considerable benefits of planting big cherries, Tan Xiujing immediately made use of party members and villagers' meetings to widely publicize and promote the cultivation of big cherries. He has gone to other places many times to learn advanced management experience, introduced excellent varieties and guided villagers to plant.

He believes that if you want to get rich, you must change your way of thinking, develop cherries into an industry, and become bigger and stronger. With the courage to be the first and the sense of responsibility that Tan Xiujing dared to bear, Tan Xiujing led the people of Sanbanshi Village to go farther and farther on the road to prosperity in cherry planting.

Gradually, cherry planting in the village has gradually become a fashion and become a "cash cow" in the villagers' fields.

Today, "green mountains, green waters and red cherries" has gradually become a gold-lettered signboard of Wendeng tourism. Relying solely on cherry income, Sanbanshi Village has a per capita annual income of more than 10,000 yuan.

The Huangni road in the village is rugged, and the way up the mountain is overgrown with weeds. This kind of environment can not attract tourists, let alone the tourism economy of the village. Tan Xiujing is well aware of this.

To this end, he led the villagers to pull stones, fill sand, and harden village roads and mountain roads of more than 20,000 square meters.

During that period of road construction, although hard and tired, Tan Xiujing and the villagers planted the seeds of sharing joys and sorrows. "at that time, as soon as we had a little income in the village, we began to build roads on and off for four or five years." Tan Xiujing said that it was not until 2010 that the road construction project in Sanbanshi Village was completed.

Sanbanshi Village has pure and sweet mountain spring water and is rich in water resources. Tan Xiujing believes that as long as he does his preparatory work and follow-up service well, he will certainly be able to attract a "golden Phoenix."

So Tan Xiujing discussed with the villagers and drilled three wells so that the mineral water plant that came to invest could be put into production quickly. Today, through the lease of land, factories, labor services, etc., the annual income of the village collective can reach 60,000 yuan, completely changing the face of poor people and weak villages in the past.

At present, the cherries are red and tourists are coming. Tan Xiujing and the villagers of Sanbanshi Village are busy again.
