My hometown is in a city in northern Jiangsu.

My mother married from one county here to another, and I have lived in the lower villages of the two counties, and my feelings are very different.

The countryside on our side is divided into land and mountain areas.

Generally speaking, it is distinguished by crops, water sources and rocks. Hudi, that is, there are no rocks, crops are mainly rice and garlic, there is much sand in the water, and there are few traces of stones in the rain and mud all the year round. When I was a child, I saw an old house in the village. It is not uncommon that the houses are all made of mud. The peculiar thing is that there are a lot of shells and screws in the soil. The whole house is embedded with white flowers and white flowers. I like to buckle these things on the wall of his house. I felt very amazing at that time, because I grew up in the mountainous countryside for the first 15 years. There is only a big reservoir that has never seen seashells or screws at most.

Mountains refer to places with hills, which belong to Jiangsu and do not have very towering peaks, but for us when we were young, the mountains looked very towering. It was not until we went to school that we knew that we could only become hills, not mountains, but the villages were all called mountains. There were four or five hills on the land, covered with pine trees, and hares and scorpions were common before. Most of the crops are wheat, melons and fruits, cotton, corn and soybeans. Rice cannot be planted. There is not so much water. There is only one big reservoir in the village, from which all the irrigation is carried. The road is full of pebbles, the water is bright when it rains, but it will be troublesome to ride a bike, and you will feel that the whole world is bumpy.

If you ask me that I like mountains and hills, the mountains are all my childhood, and I love everything here. Today, let's talk about how these hills bring us a piece of wealth, big or small, in a poor countryside.

I transferred to another school and left the mountains at the age of 15, and our story began from my childhood to my growing up.

Pine nut

Many people have eaten pine nuts, but do not know where pine nuts come from. The pine trees on the mountain have existed since I can remember. I think they should not be planted artificially. At that time, they were really poor and the saplings were also very expensive. No one on our side ate pine nuts or even knew that pine nuts were valuable, until someone began to collect them in the village. after the busy farming, the women in the village all began to go to the mountains in groups to "strangle pine nuts". The price was frighteningly cheap, but who could not want the white money? in this way, these four or five mountains were plundered in the past two years when they were bearing fruit, and they could still earn more than a hundred yuan.

Scorpion

This is the same as the pine nuts above. About when I was in primary school, someone asked my grandfather as a site to collect scorpions. My grandfather charged 30 cents for a scorpion. At that time, there were still a dime of popsicles, and even a dime could buy three corn candies. On the other hand, my grandfather was relatively big by more than a hundred families in the village, because his mind was active and daring next to the main road in the village. there was a snack bar at home and there was rapeseed oil in the oil factory. Later, people didn't like to eat rapeseed oil. They went to buy soybean oil machines and sold plastic sheeting chemical fertilizers when the greenhouse was booming. Scorpion stings are very painful, and this job suddenly becomes a welfare for half a teenager. I use home-made bamboo chopsticks to make self-made clips and go to the mountains to pick up rocks. Most of them have scorpions at the bottom. They must be caught and put in small buckets. Dozens of scorpions can be caught in a fierce morning, but it can only be said to bring some pocket money to children.

The two mentioned before are small fights, and it is the mountains and rocks that really give most people in the village a chance to "get rich". At that time, some people mined rocks in the mountains, and for this reason, many younger generations, including my uncles, were stir-frying explosives in the village. yes, of course, I knew it was against the law at home, so it was all in the middle of the night. for this reason, there was even a big murder in our backward village, and even the police dogs brought this. If I am interested in this, I will write a post about it next time. The purpose of stir-frying earth explosives is to blow up the mountains, and the rocks that are blown up are sold. Later, with the stone crusher (stone crusher), the price was not cheap, and those who had a little money could only buy one. Explosions could be heard on the farthest mountain every day, and the big stones were turned into pebbles by the stone crusher and then shipped out for sale. At that time, the dump truck was no longer enough, so it led other people to buy tractors, and then turned into a dump truck to carry these stones for sale.

At that time, those who were very capable made a lot of money, their families were all rich, and they were willing to buy bicycles for children. Before, there were only two or eight big racks in the village, and it was very troublesome for children to learn to drive. It's just that the mountain is not like a mountain, and over-mining finally attracted the attention of the government. It could not be done at all after five or six years, but it really brought a lot of changes to the village, and some people with dump trucks also drove directly to big cities to do transport business.
