Laver, also known as red color, is a kind of plant for both medicine and food. it has strong growth, strong resistance and no harm to diseases and insect pests. its young leaves and shoots can be eaten as vegetables with high nutritional value and are cultivated in southern China and other areas. Let's take a look at its planting method with the editor.

1. Land selection and preparation

Laver generally grows in a warm and humid environment, which is suitable for growing on hillside woodland with rich humus and deep soil layer. When planting, we should also choose the deep, loose and fertile sandy loam as the seedbed, first plough it once, and do the seedbed in the high bed. The height of the border should be between 15-20 cm, the width should be 1.2-1.5 m, and the length should be determined according to the scale of raising seedlings.

2. Methods of reproduction

Porphyra frutescens can improve root division and cuttage for propagation. Before the spring plant sprouts, the root system can be dug out, cut into several roots, planted on the seedbed according to a certain density, watered frequently, and new plants can grow again after a period of time. On the other hand, when the plant grows well, the healthy and disease-free branches are cut off as cuttings, the length is controlled at about 8 cm, and the upper part of the cuttings should have 2-3 leaves, which are cut into wedges. First of all, use a stick to insert a hole with a depth of 5-6 degrees in the seedbed, and then insert the cuttings into the hole, press the soil, so that the cuttings can be closely connected with the soil, and the cuttings can be watered once after cutting, and they can take root after about a month.

3. Transplanting and planting

The planting site should also choose the same soil as the seedling land, turn it 30-40 cm deep, and then apply 4000-5000 kg of rotten farm manure and 100-150kg of plant ash per mu, and then make high beds according to the topography after fertilization. Dig holes in the border according to the row spacing of 15 × 25 cm or 18 × 30 cm, transplant one plant in each hole, be careful not to damage the root system of Laver, and pour enough fixed root water after transplanting to improve the survival rate.

4. Field management

Weeding should be done once after planting to prevent weeds and plants from competing for water and fertilizer, and there is one intertillage after each harvest, watering and rain, which can increase soil permeability and promote plant growth. At the same time, we should also pay attention to the cultivation of soil to avoid plant lodging. After the planting survived, topdressing should be applied in time to speed up the plant growth.
