The incident of eggs contaminated by pesticide fenpril is happening again! In 2017, the outbreak of unusable eggs in Taiwan affected millions of eggs (see the end of the article). This year, the fenpril poisoned eggs incident occurred again in Changhua. On January 25th, three eggs sampled by agricultural administration units in Shunhong Ranch of Changhua County were found to have exceeded the standard of fenpril residue by physical examination, and the detected quantities were 0.03,0.04 and 0.06 ppm respectively (the residue standard was 0.01 ppm). All the illegal eggs were sold to Taipei Trading Xinhui Egg Company and downstream to retail investors and breakfast operators in Shuangbei City, with a total of 7480 jin, about 74,800 eggs. Consumers may have eaten them.

At present, it is confirmed that a total of 7480 jin of eggs have been detected (the inspection batches on January 25 were sold on January 27-28), while another 1929 boxes of eggs (38580 jin, 380000 5800 eggs) were sold in Shunhong Farm from January 29 to February 13. Huang Jincheng, vice chairman of the Council of Agriculture, said that it is possible that all these eggs have been "darted" and eaten by consumers, but due to the interval of several days, Fenpany may not be found. "Fenpril metabolizes very fast in hens, and eggs with problems on January 25th may not be able to be detected after the 27th."

News Dictionary: fenpril is a pesticide, and it can also be used as an environmental medicine. Chickens are not allowed to be used. However, when used for different purposes, the applicable management methods and residue standards are different. as pesticides, they can be bought directly from pesticide shops, and when they are used in the environment, they can be bought by some ordinary people, while others need to be put forward by vector disinfectants and approved before they can obtain a license to purchase.
