Generally speaking, Magnolia is also called Xinyi flower, which is one of the traditional Chinese medicine, which was banned in ancient China. Magnolia is a very precious plant in China at present, which has high economic value because of its difficult planting technology and low yield. At present, Magnolia is mainly distributed in Yunnan, Fujian and Hubei. Today, let's simply understand several problems that Magnolia needs to pay attention to in the planting process. Let's take a look.

1. Soil

Magnolia has the characteristics of light, fertilizer, moisture, shade tolerance and cold resistance. Generally, the planting land will be selected near the water source, with good drainage, deep soil layer, rich in organic matter, sunny neutral soil or slightly acidic soil. Of course, the best soil is loose and solid sandy soil, so that the soil fertilizer and water retention is stronger.

2. Methods

Because Magnolia it can use many kinds of planting methods, such as seed propagation, ramet propagation, striping propagation and high-altitude striping and so on. Then we naturally have some points to pay attention to when we adopt different planting methods. Seed reproduction can generally be planted in spring and autumn. Soak the seeds in warm water for three or four days before sowing. Wait until the seeds are opened before sowing. Ramet propagation is generally carried out in late winter and early spring, while striping is carried out in early spring. High-altitude crimping is different from lamination, which is usually carried out at the end of June every year.

3. Moisture

Magnolia has a great demand for water, whether in the seedling period or during the growth period after planting, we should do a good job in water management. When raising seedlings, we should water them frequently, but to control the amount of water, we only need to keep the humidity around 40%. After planting, the soil should be watered frequently to keep the soil moist, which can promote the growth of new roots. However, when Magnolia plants survive, its demand for water will be reduced, and if there is no dry weather, it basically does not need watering.

4. Pruning

During the growth of young trees, if we want to promote the growth of lateral branches, we need to remove the terminal buds sold by Magnolia, so that we can cultivate new branches and form crowns, which is also conducive to early flowering and preterm delivery. Secondly, after three years of cultivation of Magnolia, we should prune the unfruitful branches and leaves to promote the growth of new branches, which is conducive to the formation of flower buds, and to remove old branches, withered branches, disease and insect branches, etc. this can also improve the yield and quality of Magnolia.

It can be said that Magnolia is a very scarce traditional Chinese medicine on the market, and it is also one of the plants protected by the state, so what we need to pay attention to when planting is to go through the relevant documents and formalities, oh, otherwise you have to bear legal responsibility.
