Catechu is a very traditional Chinese medicinal material, mainly distributed in Yunnan Province, China. Its main medicinal parts are branches, which have various functions such as hemostasis, granulation, clearing lung and resolving phlegm. Mainly used for traumatic injuries, eczema wet sores, etc., its medicinal value is very high. Now children tea tree in our country also has a certain planting area, then catechu in the end how to plant it? The following small series brings you the cultivation techniques of catechu. Let's take a look together!

1. Timely seed collection

Catechu main planting method to seed propagation, so we should be in time before planting seeds. When the color of catechu fruit gradually darkens, it represents ripeness, and the fruit should be harvested in time before it falls off. The fruit is then placed in the sun for about 4 days to evaporate the water from the fruit, and the fruit is opened after cracking. Harvesting seeds, selecting plump, non-wound and other healthy seeds to ensure the quality of seeds. A high-quality seed can maintain its germination ability for about one year, but it is vulnerable to pests, so it is best to pick and sow, and its germination rate can reach about 85%.

2. Sowing seedlings

Although catechu seed germination ability is relatively strong, but in order to further improve the germination rate of seeds, we still have to do a good job of germination before sowing. And can effectively improve the germination rate of seeds and ensure that the seedlings. First of all, soak seeds at a temperature of about 50 degrees to allow them to cool naturally, and then put them in water for about a day. The germination time of seeds can be shortened to about 4 days after soaking, but the distribution of catechu is deeper, and the growth ability of lateral roots is not strong. Therefore, seedlings should be planted first. When sowing in spring, seedlings can be transplanted for about a month.

3. Planting and afforestation

Before planting, choose well-drained, fertile sandy soil for planting, if the plot is potholed with water. Then it is necessary to set up a good drainage ditch to avoid serious accumulation of water leading to rot of catechu roots, affecting its normal growth. And to do a good job of soil preparation, improve soil softness, promote the growth of young trees. Then control the row spacing, dig planting holes, and apply sufficient decomposed farm manure as base fertilizer in each planting hole. Transplant at appropriate time, manage well after successful planting, and carry out afforestation.

4. Field management

After planting, it is necessary to irrigate enough root water, but the water should not be too much to avoid affecting the normal growth of catechu. Pay attention to the permeability of soil to avoid over-sealing leading to afforestation failure. And according to the actual growth of catechu and soil fertility timely topdressing. Pay attention to do a good job of intertillage and weeding, each time the number of times shall not be less than twice, appropriate mulching, improve soil fertility and water retention. Finally, crops such as peanuts can be intercropped to improve the utilization rate of soil and reduce waste of land resources.

The above is a simple introduction to catechu cultivation techniques, and the prevention and control of pests and diseases should be done well in the planting process. Avoid pests and diseases harming the growth of catechu, resulting in reduced economic benefits of planting. Today's introduction is here. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help everyone!
