Sugar beet is a kind of herb belonging to chenopodium and beet genus. It is one of the raw materials for sugar production and one of the most popular vegetables abroad. China's sugar beet is mainly distributed in **, Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia and other places, and now the scale of artificial planting sugar beet is constantly expanding, so do you know how to fertilize sugar beet? Let's learn together.

1. Base fertilizer

Base fertilizer is also called base fertilizer, we usually use the principle of heavy application and deep application. General crops planted its base fertilizer is basically based on farm manure or organic fertilizer, then sugar beet is no exception. There are generally three ways to apply base fertilizer, first of all, it can be applied in combination with autumn soil preparation, secondly, it can be applied in spring ploughing, and finally, it can be applied by ridging fertilizer or ridging fertilizer. We also need to apply base fertilizer evenly, and with the use of a small amount of fertilizer, this can effectively improve the soil structure.

2. Seed fertilizer

Basically, crop cultivation does not require seed fertilizer. The reason why seed fertilizer should be applied when planting sugar beet is because the seed kernel of sugar beet is very small and the nutrient content is low. In order to promote the growth and development of seeds, we need to apply seed fertilizer when sowing. Seed fertilizer we usually are mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, or farm manure and sugar beet special microbial inoculants. Also, when applying seed fertilizer, it should be isolated from seeds to avoid burning buds.

3. Topdressing outside roots

Sugarbeet topdressing is mainly divided into two aspects, the first is the root fertilization, followed by foliar fertilizer, then we first understand the root fertilization. External fertilization is generally carried out according to the growth of sugar beet. When sugar beet grows well, we generally only need to apply external fertilization twice, and each topdressing is mainly urea, which can be used in combination with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, or special fertilizer for sugar beet. If the growth condition of sugar beet is not very good, we need to control the amount of fertilizer and increase the number of topdressing according to the specific situation. When fertilizing, we need to ditch the roots and fertilize them. The ditch is about seven or eight centimeters deep. After applying fertilizer, cover them with soil.

4. Foliar fertilizer

In order to improve the quality of sugar beet, we also need to apply foliar fertilizer when applying fertilizer outside the root, which can accumulate sugar beet. Foliar fertilization We need to strictly control the concentration of foliar fertilizer, generally about 1% potassium fertilizer, about 2% phosphorus fertilizer for spraying. Or it is appropriate to use boron fertilizer, about 30 kilograms per mu, and according to the demand for nutrients for sugar beet growth, reasonable supplement of micro-fertilizer. Boron fertilizer can be applied twice a week while the beet roots are growing to avoid yellowing or leaf failure.

The above is a simple fertilization technology for sugar beet. Unscientific fertilization methods not only cannot improve the yield and quality of sugar beet, but also affect the normal growth of sugar beet. Therefore, we need to master the fertilizer requirements of sugar beet, and then apply fertilizer reasonably to promote high yield and high quality of sugar beet.
