The method of accelerating germination of lettuce seed
Lettuce is a common vegetable in our life, which we can eat all the year round. In fact, it is a kind of cold-resistant, cool and heat-resistant vegetable. Its seeds begin to germinate at 4 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is higher than 25 degrees, the seed coat is difficult to absorb water, which leads to poor germination. We can eat all the year round because growers have adopted the method of promoting germination and sowing, so they can be on the market in summer and autumn. Let's take a look at the budding technology of lettuce.
1. Hoisting well method
In rural areas, well water is the main source of domestic water, basically every household has its own well, which is warm in winter and cool in summer, so in the summer high temperature season, if you want to put the seeds of lettuce at a low temperature for germination treatment, the well is a good place. First of all, soak the seeds in cold water or well water for 5-6 hours, scrub 2-3 vinegar after soaking, remove mucus and impurities from the surface, and then dry them slightly, put them into a wet cloth bag and hang them 10cm above the surface of the well with a rope. Rinse with well water 1-2 times a day, so that it can sprout and sow after 3-4 days.
2. Cold storage method
With the progress of science, we have been able to improve the cooling of electrical appliances, and we can use freezers or refrigerators to create a low-temperature environment in which seeds can germinate. First, soak the seeds in clean water for 24 hours, scrub them clean, soak them in 100-fold solution of the new high-fat membrane for 1 hour, wrap them with gauze and put them in the refrigerator or freezer. Keep the temperature between 3-5 degrees, after 24 hours of cold storage, put it in a cool and ventilated place to promote germination. When the seeds begin to show white, spread them in a cool and ventilated place with scattered light, and pay attention to spray water conservation. When the buds turn light green after 2-3 days, they can be sown. If you are in trouble, you can put the seeds in the refrigerator or freezer, keep the temperature at 15-20 degrees, and germinate in 3-5 days.
3. Irrigation mulching method
Select a piece of loose and fertile soil, after baking and whitening, shaping and raking flat as a seedbed, and then sowing the seeds on the ground without any treatment, covering with a thick layer of straw, pressing the straw with stones. Every evening, the seedbed is drenched with water, so that the seeds will germinate gradually in 2-3 days and can be transplanted when the seedlings grow to a certain height.
4. Sand mixing method
Soak the seeds in 100-fold solution of the new high-fat membrane for 1-2 hours, mix them with moist fine sand, then place them on the edge of the air-raid shelter or water tank, keep them moist and cool, and germinate after about 3-4 days.
