The daidai flower, alias Huiqing Orange, Fructus Aurantii, and Lime Orange, is an evergreen shrub of Rutaceae, distributed in southern China. It has the effect of regulating qi and chest, and relieving vomiting. It is often used for epigastric pain, poor appetite, nausea and vomiting. So how to grow daidai flowers? Let's take a look at the detailed introduction.

1. Land selection and preparation

The hawksbill flower likes the warm and humid environment, the cold tolerance is weak, the seedlings are afraid of frost, the cultivation should choose the leeward and sunny hillside, the soil should be sandy loam with deep soil layer and good drainage, and should not be planted on saline-alkaline soil. After selecting the land, plough for 2-3 times, remove weeds, break the soil, and then apply rotten organic fertilizer as base fertilizer according to the fertility of the soil, mix it well with the soil and make beds, waiting for planting.

2. Methods of reproduction

The daidai flower can be produced by three propagation methods: seed, cutting and grafting, but the seedlings produced by the seeds are easy to mutate, so they are rarely used in production, or as rootstocks. Cutting propagation in April-May selected well-growing, disease-free mother plant robust branches as cuttings, it will be cut into 15-20 cm long. Remove the lower leaves of the cuttings and insert them obliquely on the sand bed to keep the seedling bed moist. At a suitable temperature, it can take root in January. Grafting propagation is often used in production, and the method of branch grafting or relying on grafting can be used. It can be transplanted after 1-2 years of survival.

3. Field management

Daidai flower has the characteristics of multiple shoots, which needs to consume a lot of nutrients, so it is necessary to topdressing for many times, mainly organic fertilizer and some quick-acting fertilizer properly. When the plant begins to shoot in April, topdressing should be applied every time, and overwintering fertilizer should be applied in winter, mainly with cake manure and barnyard manure. Should be timely in the drought, but should pay attention to in summer, not too much watering caused by stagnant water, winter plants in a dormant state, to control watering.

4. Diseases and insect pests

The main disease of tortoise flower is leaf spot, which starts from the leaf edge, first appears brown disease spot, after the disease spot spreads, presents irregular shape, and finally appears black grain and rot. For the disease, it is necessary to strengthen the field management, maintain good ventilation and light transmittance, spray bacilli at the onset of the disease, spray once every ten days and a half month, continuous 2-3 times to control the disease. Insect pests are easy to occur in high temperature, high humidity and poor ventilation, and its excreta will also produce soot disease, for which dimethoate can be sprayed to control the disease.
