7--9 In January, foxes enter the recovery period and cubs enter the breeding period. The common diseases in this period mainly include the following.

(1) Heat stroke (sunstroke and heat stroke) occurs in the summer season, when the temperature is too high and the ventilation is poor, the animal is directly exposed to sunlight to cause brain overheating (sunstroke) or the stimulation of whole body heating (heat stroke). The disease usually occurs rapidly and the mortality rate is very high.

Fox raccoon extremely underdeveloped sweat glands, slow body temperature distribution, easy to cause body temperature rise, depression, pace swing, syncope state, vomiting, breathing difficulties, mouth stretch, asthma, visible mucosa cyanosis, and finally coma, convulsion and death. After death, it was mostly cerebral congestion and pulmonary hemorrhage.

When the disease occurs, the animal farm should immediately take cooling measures, such as watering the ground and strengthening ventilation facilities. Sick animals should be transferred to a cool, ventilated shady place; cold compress on the head, intramuscular injection of Qiangerxin 1--2 ml when myocardial energy is incomplete; animal cages in sunny places should be shaded, ventilated and sprinkled with cold water on the ground or cage.

(2) The cause of gastroenteritis is mainly improper feeding management, sudden change of feed or feed spoilage, drinking and eating utensils not cleaned and disinfected for a long time, drinking water is not clean, food intake is too large, etc.; In addition, there are also long-distance transportation, animal fatigue, causing the body resistance to decline caused by this disease; there are canine distemper, Pasteurella, Escherichia coli and other diseases can cause secondary gastroenteritis.

Clinical manifestations are loss of appetite at the beginning of the disease, sometimes vomiting, appetite waste at the later stage of the disease, oral mucosa congestion, dry fever, mental depression, and inactivity. Abdominal curl, stoop back, intestinal voice enhanced, diarrhea, discharge egg-white grayish-yellow or gray-green loose stool, there are also bloody stool, anus and perineum hair with loose stool, dirty. To late severe dehydration, eyeball collapse, hair disheveled, lethargy, convulsions and death.

When the herd is ill in large numbers, bad factors should be excluded from the diet. Take protective bait therapy, start feed quantity should be less, wait for improvement when gradually reach normal to give quantity; conditional can feed fresh milk or milk powder; if necessary, can add tetracycline or chloramphenicol in feed, 2 times a day, 25 mg each time. Streptomycin or neomycin can also be dissolved in water about 1- 20,000 international units, poured into the water box to make it drink. For severe cases, oral sulfamidine can be taken, 0.1--0.2 grams per day. When dehydration failure, subcutaneous multi-point injection of 5% glucose 20--30 ml, camphor oil 0.5--1 mg. In order to restore the appetite of sick animals as soon as possible, complex vitamin B injection can be injected intramuscularly, vitamin C 0.5--1 mg can also be injected intramuscularly, penicillin or streptomycin 200,000 international units each time, 2--3 times a day can be injected.

(3) proctoptosis (rectal prolapse) is mostly secondary to severe dyspepsia or gastroenteritis diarrhea, and cubs are prone to hair. Due to the urgency and weight, abdominal pressure increases, and after the animal defecates, it emerges from the anus like a cylindrical curved tube. Due to the anal sphincter clamp closed, so that edema occurs intestinal, easy to damage and bleeding. If not treated in time, the mucosa gradually from red to purple, heavy black, necrosis.

Discovered rectocele should be timely reduction, first of all with 0.1% potassium permanganate aqueous solution to wash the dirt adhered to the rectum, such as edema, can be gently massaged by hand or acupuncture, until edema disappears, soft, and then with 0.5%--1% procaine solution elution out of the rectum, to be anesthetized. Use a glass rod and hand to gently return the detached part. Finally, cigarette packet suture, suture tightness should be moderate, so as not to re-out or cause defecation difficulties, 5- 7 days can be removed.

(4) The cause of hair eating disease (alopecia) is unknown. The main symptoms are that the tip of the hair is eaten, the needle hair is bald, and the villi become thicker. It mostly occurs in the tail, neck, buttocks and body sides. Eaten the part of the coat that resembles a sheared sheep.

The control measure is to supplement sulfur-containing amino acid feed to the diet, such as feather powder, eggs, soybean milk, etc. Daily attention should be paid to the supply of nutrient-complete feed, do a good job of cage and litter box hygiene.

(5) The cause of self-bite disease is unclear and there are different opinions. Breeds are prone to occur in spring and cubs in August-September.

Symptoms are when the animal bites itself on the tail, buttocks, or other body part, causing death. The disease often occurs suddenly and rapidly, and the tail can be bitten off or bitten off the abdomen overnight, and the intestine can be taken out. There are also chronic after, first bite tail tip, after biting tail root, and then bite buttocks or ventral. When the sick animal is quiet, its mental state and appetite are normal. Severe days do not eat, emaciation, convulsions or malnutrition, anemia and death.

There is no specific treatment for prevention and treatment, but symptomatic treatment can be given. The principle is sedation and trauma treatment, but also injection of antibiotics. Chlorpromazine hydrochloride 0.25g, calcium lactate 0.5g, compound vitamin B 0.1g, ground and mixed evenly, divided into two parts and fed in feed twice a day, one part each time; local trauma treatment is to use hydrogen peroxide or iodine tincture to clean and disinfect, then apply sulfanilamide ointment (in summer, 2% trichlorfon can be mixed for fly prevention); new drugs such as Zibiaoling and Zibiaoting can also be tried, and the usage and dosage shall be implemented according to the instructions. Cai Zhizhong also reported that the combination of Chinese and Western medicine, internal and external use of treatment methods received good results. The method is: (1) adding 0.1g copper sulfate and 0.1g manganese sulfate to each kilogram of feed,(2) injecting 2ml 2% procaine hydrochloride into Houhai acupoint;(3) 15g of radix sophora flavescentis, 15g of radix stemonae, 15g of polyporus umbellatus, 10g of artemisia root, 10g of coptis root, 10g of radix scutellariae, 10g of tangerine peel and 10g of liquorice are decocted in water and thick soup is filtered; after the juice is taken out, an equal amount of 40- 50 DEG C white spirit is added; after the juice is warmed and cooled, the affected part is immersed in the liquid medicine for 10- 15 minutes, once a day for 3 consecutive days.

(vi) mites disease is a skin disease caused by mites parasitic on the skin. Lesions mainly occurred in the legs, abdomen, ears, nose, lips and tail. The sick animal continuously licks the affected part with its tongue or rubs it with the help of its cage, or scratches it with its claws, resulting in redness or damage to the skin, yellow or red liquid exuding, white crust forming after drying, skin loss of elasticity, restlessness of the sick animal, loss of appetite and weight loss.

Prevention measures: (1) the hair around the affected part is cut off and washed with warm soapy water to remove hard crusts and dirt; 1% bromogeramine is used for washing and disinfection, and after drying, the medicine is applied, 2%--5% aqueous solution of trichlorfon is applied, 60% aqueous solution of sodium thiosulfate is dipped into a brush for wiping, and after drying, 5% hydrochloric acid solution is applied again, and the coating is performed once every 2- 3 days; sulfur glycerin is mixed with the same amount or iodoglycerin is used; 3 parts of iodine tincture and 7 parts of glycerin are rubbed; 1 part of tobacco leaf or tobacco stem is boiled in 20 parts of water for 1 hour, and rubbed when the temperature is appropriate; 1 centipede, 50 grams of sesame oil and 50 grams of borneol are ground into powder and coated on the affected part. (2)The animals were fed with one tablet of BaiChongMie produced by Jilin Chunhua Veterinary Medicine Factory, and abamectin 0.5 ml was subcutaneously injected into the neck every other day, and repeated once a week. (3)Miechongding Injection, produced by Nanjing Jindun Animal Pharmaceutical Factory, is injected at 0.2 mg per kilogram of body weight.

There are many prevention methods, which require strict and serious work to achieve good results. (1)Medicinal bath. Soak fox raccoon dog in 2%-3% trichlorfon aqueous solution for 0.5- 1 min, repeat once a week. (2)Keep the animal farm clean and hygienic. Do not have fur flying or piles of feces; cages, eating utensils and all other equipment used should be regularly cleaned and thoroughly disinfected.
