Rookie of early and mid-ripe peaches: Nakajima Shinagawa
Nakajima Shinagawa is a new variety selected from white peach in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. In 1996, our garden was introduced directly from Zhengzhou Fruit Tree Research Institute. Through the observation of multi-point trial planting in Xiangyun County, it is considered that the variety has strong cultivation adaptability, early fruiting and high yield, large fruit, bright red coloring, high hardness, excellent storage and transportation resistance, strong flavor, excellent quality and wide planting range. The fruit matured in the middle and late July, which is a large all-red high-quality high-grade peach variety between early and middle ripening varieties, which has high economic value and broad development prospects.
The young trees of this variety grow strongly and the new shoots are branched for many times. if they are coring three times with 2Mel, a stable and high-yielding tree structure can be formed in the same year. After entering a large number of fruit, the tree tends to be moderate and the growth is stable. Young trees with primary fruit mainly bear fruit from long and medium fruit branches, and fruit from medium and short fruit branches at full fruiting stage, accounting for more than 76% of the total fruit branches. It has the advantages of easy flowering, early fruiting, high fruit setting rate of natural pollination and high yield. In the second year after seedling planting, the flowering and fruiting plant rate was as high as 100%, with an average of 28 per plant with a weight of 7.3kg; a 3-year-old plant yielded 26.2kg, equivalent to 1775 kg per mu; and a 4-year-old plant yielded 46.9kg, equivalent to 3142 kg per mu. The fruit is large, the weight of a single fruit is 260ml 350 grams, and the maximum weight of a single fruit is 460 grams. Round to oval, the top of the fruit is flat, the suture is not obvious. The fruit is all-round bright red, the color is very bright, the fruit surface is smooth, the hairs are few and short. The flesh is yellowish white, light red near the core, semi-sticky core, small nucleus, edible rate as high as 97%, crisp and hard meat, more fruit juice. It can be stored for 15 days at room temperature. It has good merchandise and is very resistant to storage and transportation. The fruit contains more than 13.5% sugar, tastes sour and sweet, has a specific and strong flavor, and has excellent quality. Among several main popularized peach varieties maturing around July in Xiangyun County, their comprehensive economic characters ranked first.
