The disease is mostly caused by feeding inferior fish meal.

[main symptoms]

The diseased chicken has stunted growth, pale crown, loss of appetite, dehydration, dishevelled feathers and sleepiness. Occasionally diseased chickens shed dark liquid from their mouths. The autopsy was characterized by myogastric mucosal erosion, ulcer and bleeding. It occurs mainly in 3-to 6-week-old chicks, which are sporadic and sometimes have a mortality rate as high as 20%.

[prevention]

The amount of fishmeal should be controlled or inferior fishmeal should not be used. Drinking water with 0.1% potassium permanganate at the initial stage after onset. Vitamin K (5 mg / kg) or vitamin C (50 mg / kg) or vitamin B6 (5 mg / kg) can be added to the feed. If 0.15% sulfamethazine is added to the feed, it has a good curative effect on the disease.
