Hangzhi 1, the only new sesame variety bred by aviation technology in China.
Variety source
"Hangzhi 1" is supported by the key project of "Ninth five-year Plan crop Aerospace Technology breeding" of the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1996, the parent sesame seed was provided by the Oil crop Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, carrying the 17th recoverable satellite launched by China, and returned to the ground after staying in space for 15 days. Ground selection has been carried out for many years since 1997. Through the comparative tests of genetic stability, yield, quality and resistance, it was obviously better than the control, and was promoted into the National Sesame Regional Test and Hubei Sesame Regional Test from 2001 to 2002. The variety passed the national sesame regional test and Hubei sesame regional test and production test at the same time in 2002, and was approved by Hubei province in 2003. It was exclusively developed by Hefei Fengle seed Industry Co., Ltd., authorized by the Oil crop Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2003.
Variety characteristics
The plant of "Hangzhi No. 1" is a single culm type, with a height of about 160 cm, more than 200 cm under good cultivation conditions, compact plant type, long oval middle and lower leaves, narrow and long upper leaves, light green leaves, strong growth point, strong growth potential, high uniformity, stout stem, developed root system, white Corolla, medium hairs per leaf axil, four edges of capsule, yellowish green stem and leaf fruit at maturity. The middle and lower leaves all fall off, the yellowing is good, the capsule does not burst, and the seed coat is pure white. Generally, the height of the initial capsule is 45ml 50cm, the length of fruit axis is more than 100cm, the number of capsules per plant is about 100, up to more than 170, the average number of grains per capsule is 65ml, the weight of 1000 grains is 2.8Muth3.2 g, the oil content is 57.67%, the protein is 19.2%, and the whole growth period of summer sowing is about 90 days in the Yangtze River basin.
Yield performance
Participated in the national sesame variety regional trial for two consecutive years from 2001 to 2002, the average yield was 1288.8 kg / ha, ranking first, 11.82% higher than Yuzhi 4 (CK1), 10.30% higher than the local control (CK2), 96% higher than the local control (CK2), the average crude fat content was 56.20%, the highest was 59.74%, and the average crude protein content was 20.23%. The average incidence of sesame stem blight was 14.16%, and the disease index was 5.53, which was the lowest among the tested varieties, 47.11% and 60.39% lower than CK1, respectively. The average yield of 8 pilot projects in 4 provinces was 1110.45 kg / ha, 21.12% higher than that of Yuzhi 4, and increased by 21.12% over the control Yuzhi 4.
Key points of cultivation techniques
Sowing at the right time: spring sowing and wheat interplanting should be in the first and middle of May, and summer sowing should be from May 25 to June 5, no later than June 10 at the latest.
Rational fertilization: adequate base fertilizer, 25 kg N, P, K compound fertilizer per mu, 35 kg for high-yield cultivation, early topdressing at early flowering stage, 2.5 kg urea per mu combined with rain.
Planting density: 8000 plants / mu in high fertility plots, 9000 plants / mu in medium fertility plots, and 11000 plants / mu in poor fertility plots. (sowing quantity: 0.5 jin / mu for strip sowing, 0.5 jin / mu for sowing on demand, 0.7 jin / mu for sowing)
Early seedling, timely seedling setting: 1 murmur3 pairs of true leaf period seedling 2 times, 4 murmur5 pair true leaf stage timely fixed seedling.
Appropriate late harvest, reasonable drying: in the lower part of the fruit axis capsule yellowing and a few split harvest is appropriate, after harvest should be small bundles, in order to make the seed color bright white, high oil yield.
At present, "Hangzhi No. 1" is the only new variety bred by aviation technology in China. Other units or individuals have not yet used this technology for sesame breeding, so beware of counterfeiting.

Hangzhi No.1 (Sesame)
Sesame is one of the main oil crops in China and a traditional characteristic agricultural product. in recent years, the planting area of sesame is 1300-15 million mu, and the total output is about 1 million tons. Henan, Anhui, Hubei and Jiangxi are the main sesame producing provinces, accounting for more than 60% of the total area of the country. Jiangsu, Hebei, Shaanxi, Shanxi and other provinces also have a certain area and a wide distribution area. There are two inter-provincial concentrated producing areas of sesame: one is in northwest Hubei and southwest Henan.

High temperature and humidity to prevent Sesame Diseases
Recently, some farmers reported that some sesame leaves curled up and wilted, some reflected that sesame leaves wilted sharply from the top down, and some sesame leaves withered from the bottom up. What diseases are they? Farmers are also confused and have asked agricultural technicians to give technical guidance on how to prevent and control these diseases. Judging from the current climatic factors, high temperature accompanied by humidity is easy to induce sesame disease, especially in sesame land with poor drainage, low terrain or continuous cropping. Sesame disease reflected from farmers all over the country
