Technique of domesticating tulips
The appearance of tulips is noble and elegant, and many ordinary consumers stay away because it is delicate and difficult to raise. In fact, it is difficult to raise tulips mainly because its bulb culture process requires a cool climate in summer, which is not suitable in most parts of our country. And buy a seed ball cultivation, let it blossom at home, it is not difficult to do, raise well, can blossom again the next year. Why don't you try planting a pot if you love flowers?
Seed balls should be selected with a diameter of more than 4 cm, that is, a full and strong ball with a circumference of more than 12 cm, in order to ensure flowering. You can buy different colors to grow. Most of the commercial bulbs were treated at a low temperature of 4 ℃ to 5 ℃, sown immediately after they were bought, and blossomed in 60 to 70 days. You should choose the right time to buy seed balls. If you want New Year's Day to blossom before and after the Spring Festival, you should buy them from September to October, but you need to heat up and replenish the light after coming out of leaves. The family had better buy it from late October to November. After planting, it will grow roots in winter, leave leaves in spring, and blossom from April to May to adapt to the natural environment and take good care of it.
Tulips like warm and humid winter, cool and dry summer climate, like light, resistant to semi-shade, leaves unearthed to bask in the sun. The suitable growth temperature was 15 ℃ to 20 ℃. The bulb could withstand the low temperature of-35 ℃ in winter and withered leaves at 30 ℃ in summer. During the growing period, the basin soil should be kept moist and avoid stagnant water. Like loose and fertile sandy loam, pH value is 6.5 to 7. It is better to use all-element compound fertilizer or humic acid liquid fertilizer for fertilization.
Cultivation hint
October to November: planting bulbs can be planted in flowerpots with a diameter of 10 cm to 20 cm. The basin bottom cushion is about 3 cm thick, such as charcoal slag, masonry grain, ceramsite and so on as drainage layer, adding loose and fertile neutral soil. Pay attention to the use of new soil, planted lily plants and bulbous flowers of the old soil can not be used to prevent viruses, nematodes and other infections. The diameter of 10 cm to 15 cm flowerpots is 1 to 2 balls per pot, and that of 18 cm to 20 cm flowerpots is 3 to 5 balls per pot. When planting, the top of the seed ball is flush with the soil surface. After planting, put it in the shade for 3 to 5 days, pour water thoroughly and put it in a cool outdoor place. When the surface of the basin soil is less than 1 cm, it should be watered.
From December to February of the following year: in the cold season, the flowerpot can be wrapped with foam and put outside in the leeward and sunny place, the root system can grow above 5 ℃. If the basin soil is not dry or watered, it will be watered thoroughly.
March to April: sprouting in March. 15 ℃ to 18 ℃ is the peak period of stem and leaf growth, which should be maintained in the sun. 1 ‰ all-element compound fertilizer is poured once a week. The leaf surface can be sprayed with warm water once or twice a day. After the bud appears, often sprinkle water to the ground around the potted flowers to increase the humidity of the air. It can blossom from April to May.
From May to June: the plant can generally be discarded after flowering. Mountain areas and plateau areas have unique conditions, you can continue to maintain. In general, for plants that bloom before and after the Spring Festival, there is still a suitable growth period of more than two months after flowering. If you are interested, you can continue to raise them for another year. The method is to cut off the flower head after wilting, retain the pedicel and transfer nutrients to the new bulb. The flowerpot was placed in a place with cool ventilation and sufficient light, and 1 ‰ all-element compound fertilizer solution was poured every 10 days to promote the growth of new bulbs. After wilting, the leaves still need to keep the basin soil moist for about half a month.
From July to September: stop water and fertilizer and let the bulbs dormancy in a cool place. If the bulb is dug up in October, if the diameter of the new bulb is more than 3 cm, it can be re-sown and maintained according to the initial planting bulb management method, and the second flowering is expected in April of the following year.
It takes four years for sowing and reproduction to blossom. Bulbs can also be used to reproduce, but there is no natural condition for reproduction in most parts of our country. If you like it, you need to buy seed balls year after year.
