Last Updated: 2024/11/09, When keeping a dog, you should always put some clear water in a fixed position, so that it can drink at any time when it is thirsty, before and after exercise and before and after eating, so that it will not find another unclean water to drink. Especially in summer and autumn, when the weather is hot and dry, dogs especially need to drink clear water to supplement the evaporation of water inside. From the puppy period, if the puppy drinks enough water every day, it will develop normally and have a healthy stomach and intestines. Otherwise, frequent lack of water will easily lead to many problems, such as heatstroke in summer. Pour out the leftover water every day and change it to a fresh one.

Pour out the leftover water every day and replace it with fresh boiled water. It is best to give it distilled water, not raw tap water. If the water contains bacteria or unclean substances, it will certainly have an impact on the body of puppies.

Boiled water should be given to the puppy when it is not hot to avoid scalding its mouth, throat and tongue. It should be poured into the basin of water after it is cold.

Puppies should drink some glucose water every day, one to two tablespoons of powdered glucose, mixed with some distilled water. Although glucose is very important to replenish the physical strength of puppies, it should not be excessive, otherwise it will damage the teeth.

Sometimes puppies eat dirty things and cause vomiting, and they can also feed some glucose water afterwards. If they have no appetite, they can temporarily eat one or two meals of batter, and drinking water is even more indispensable.

We must allow the dog to drink as much water as possible in order to maintain its health and reduce disease. Water volatilizes quickly in dogs (sweat glands are mostly in the tongue), especially in active puppies. If we do not replenish it as soon as possible, it will easily cause "dehydration" all over the body, especially when we are ill.
