Bombyx mori, also known as ground tiger, belongs to Lepidoptera Noctuidae, which mainly harms the seedlings of spring sowing vegetables and seriously damages eggplant fruits, melons, legumes and cruciferous vegetables.

Prevention and cure method

First, agricultural control in early spring to eradicate vegetable land and surrounding weeds, spring ploughing and raking, autumn drying soil and winter irrigation can kill eggs, larvae and some overwintering pupae.

2. Trapping and trapping (1) overwintering adults were killed in spring with sugar and vinegar solution. The ratio of sugar, vinegar, wine and water was 3, 4, 1 and 2, with a small amount of trichlorfon added. Put the trapping liquid in the basin and put it in the field 1 meter from the ground in the evening to trap and kill adults. Take back the basin or cover it the next morning to prevent the lure from evaporating. (2) collect fresh paulownia leaves, soak them in water and put them into the damaged vegetable field in the evening of the first generation larval stage, with 50 to 70 leaves per mu, and catch the larvae under the leaves the next morning. It can also be attracted by fresh vegetable leaves and weeds.

Third, manual capture and treatment can catch latent old larvae in the topsoil around the broken seedlings in the early morning, and the results are good for several days in a row.

Fourth, chemical control (1) pre-3rd instar larvae, spray 2.5% trichlorfon powder 1.5 to 2 kg per mu, or add 10 kg fine soil to make poisonous soil, scatter around the plant, or spray with 1000 times of 80% trichlorfon soluble powder, 50% phoxim EC and 2000 times fenvalerate EC. (2) when the worm age is older, 50% diazinon EC or 80% dichlorvos EC can be used to irrigate the root with 1000 to 1500 times to kill the larvae in the soil. (3) 60 to 120 grams of 80% trichlorfon soluble powder per mu, first dissolved in a small amount of water, then mixed well with 4 to 5 kilograms of fried rapeseed cake, or mixed with 20 to 30 kilograms of chopped fresh grass into poison bait, and sprinkled near the seedling root in the evening.
