Dezhou donkey

Dezhou donkey originated in Binzhou City, Shandong Province, Dezhou City along the Bohai Sea counties, to Wudi County the best quality (also known as Wudi Donkey). It is not only one of the large donkey species in China, but also an excellent local breed. At present, it has been listed as a local breed protection list by the state. In terms of appearance, it can be divided into two types: "three pink donkeys" and "black donkeys".

Dezhou donkey is deeply loved by farmers all over the country because of its strong adaptability, resistance to rough feeding and strong disease resistance. Dezhou donkey has been introduced as breeding livestock by 24 provinces and cities, such as * *, Shaanxi, Liaoning and so on, and it has also brought considerable economic benefits to farmers.

Physical appearance: tall physique, symmetrical structure, beautiful appearance, square figure, good combination of head, neck and torso. Hair color is divided into three kinds of powder (pink and white around the nose, pink and white around the eyes, pink and white under the abdomen, the rest of the hair is black) and aconite (the whole body hair is black).

Adult donkey body size: male donkey height 142cm, body length 143.6 cm, chest circumference 152.8 cm, tube circumference 18.7cm, female donkey 140,137,160,16.4cm. The male donkey has a broad forebody, high head and neck, big eyes and mouth, fierce power, straight back and waist, slightly oblique rump, round rib arch, powerful limbs, obvious joints, round and strong hooves.

The average height of Texas donkeys is 130cm, 135cm, and the tallest is 155cm.

Production performance: Dezhou donkey grows rapidly, matures sexually at the age of 12-15 months, and begins to breed at the age of 2.5. At the age of 1, the foal is tall and the body length is more than 85% of the adult donkey. Female donkeys generally have a regular estrus, and can give birth to about 10 foals in their lifetime, and good donkeys still give birth to foals at the age of 25; male donkeys are sexually active, and under normal circumstances, the ejaculation volume is 70 ml, sometimes up to 180 ml, and the semen quality is good. As a meat donkey, the slaughtering rate can be as high as 53%, and the meat yield is high. It is an improved fine male parent breed of small donkey.

The single donkey pulls a cart with a load of 750 kg and travels for 40 to 45 kilometers per day, which can last for many days. The maximum pulling force accounts for 75% of the body weight.

Development and utilization: in terms of the development and utilization of Dezhou donkey, one is to develop its medicinal value. Dezhou donkey is a good raw material for making donkey E gelatin because of its large size, thick skin and high glue production rate. The second is to develop its milk value, donkey milk and human milk are very similar, the proportion of nutrients accounted for almost 99% of human milk, is the best substitute for human milk; and donkey milk has the role of moisturizing the skin and improving the facial environment. The average price of a kilogram of finished donkey milk in the mainland is about 35-40 yuan. The third is to develop its meat value, as the saying goes: "Dragon meat in the sky, donkey meat in the ground". According to analysis, every 100 grams of donkey meat contains 18.6 grams of protein, 0.7 grams of fat, 10 milligrams of calcium, 144 milligrams of phosphorus and 13.6 milligrams of iron. Its effective nutrients are no less than those of cattle, rabbits and dogs. It is a typical meat food with high protein and low fat. Donkey meat also has health functions such as tonifying blood, tonifying qi and tonifying deficiency. The trend of eating donkey meat has also sprung up in Guangdong, Guangxi, Shaanxi, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong and other places, which shows that there is great potential for the development of raising donkeys. In addition, the donkey's natural tolerance to harsh environmental living conditions is the most prominent of all livestock. Once its living conditions are changed and a more generous and appropriate fattening method is applied, its benefit will be greatly improved. It is a new type of breeding industry worthy of attention and development.
