Last Updated: 2024/11/03, When sows are in breeding, artificial insemination, delivery, midwifery and abortion, if they do not pay attention to hygiene or disinfection is not strict, bacteria will be brought into the uterus, resulting in reproductive infection of sows, including Escherichia coli, Corynebacterium, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus and so on, leading to endometritis. During delivery, the operation of the birth canal or part of the placenta remains in the uterus, which can also cause endometritis. Bacteria can also enter through the vulva when the floor of the barracks is poorly sanitary, or when sows are active in a sewerage playground.

During delivery, the operation of the birth canal or part of the placenta remains in the uterus, which can also cause endometritis. The floor of the barracks is not sanitary, or when sows are active in the playground with sewage, bacteria can also enter the uterus through the vagina to cause inflammation.

When endometritis occurs, dark red or brown secretions flow from the vulva of the sick beaver and stick around the vulva, sometimes smelly. Sows urinate with a large amount of white or brown liquid more than ten days after birth. The disease makes the uterus unsuitable for sperm, eggs and embryos. As a result, sows cannot get pregnant. In chronic endometritis, the appetite or spirit of diseased pigs is normal; in acute endometritis, the appetite of diseased pigs is decreased or abolished, and the body temperature is 39 5 ℃-42 ℃.

Prostaglandin F2a (PGF2a) was injected 12 days after estrus and PGF2a was injected 12 days after estrus was observed. In estrus 3 days after each injection of PGF2a, first intramuscular injection of 20-40IU oxytocin to promote uterine contraction and excretion of uterine contents, then use disinfectant to clean and disinfect the vagina, store the sterilized vas deferens into the cervix, and inject antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs into the uterus. If treated with penicillin, it can be cured. If the disease occurs during postpartum lactation, it is not necessary to inject PGF2a. If a rise in body temperature occurs, antibiotics should be injected intravenously or intramuscularly, plus 10 Mel 25 ml of aminopyrine, twice a day for 3 consecutive days. After treatment, sows can be mated when they are in estrus.

The preventive measures are to keep the pig house clean and dry, strictly disinfect during mating and midwifery, and insert antibiotic capsules into the uterine cavity after midwifery.
