The eggs are excreted with the urine and develop into invasive larvae after 3-5 days in a suitable environment, invade the pig body through the mouth or skin, migrate to the liver with the blood flow, further migrate to the kidney and its surrounding tissues, and gradually mature. It takes about 4-5 months from the time the larva invades the pig to mature and excretes the eggs in the urine.

In the early stage of infection, inflammation and nodules can be seen on the skin, local lymph nodes are swollen, the back is arched, the waist is weak, the disease often causes hindlimb weakness, the hindquarters sway left and right when walking, like to lie down, seriously sick pigs, urine with white lumps and pus. Autopsy examination of the dead pig body infected with the disease soon decomposed, the liver was enlarged, the surface showed irregular traces and scars of worms, the connective tissue around the kidney proliferated, and there were scars on the surface of the kidney. Adults can be found in the surrounding tissues of the kidney and the ureteral wall.

4. Pigs over 5 months old can be examined by this method: when pigs urinate for the first time in the morning, take 20-30 milliliters of urine from the back of the urine, pour it into 3-4 clean and smooth glass plates and naturally precipitate for 20-30 minutes, then pour out the urine in the plate, then place the plate on a flat black paper surface, and observe it with the naked eye. It can be found that the small gray-white oval eggs adhere and protrude on the surface of the bottom of the dish.
