Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Soybean aphids are commonly known as greasy worms and honey worms. It is mainly concentrated on the growth point of soybean, the top leaf and the back of young leaves, and the harm of sucking juice. It can not only cause leaf curl, plant dwarfing, reduce yield, but also spread virus disease, resulting in yield and quality decline. The insect began to appear in the soybean field in the middle and late June, and the damage was serious during high temperature and drought. Soybean aphids have great reproductive capacity, and a female can reproduce 50-60. Under suitable conditions, small aphids can give birth in about 4-5 days, and can reproduce on soybean for 15% of the year.

Soybean aphids have great reproductive capacity, and a female can reproduce 50-60. Under suitable conditions, small aphids can give birth in about 4-5 days, and can reproduce 15 generations on soybean in the whole year.

There are four peaks of migration and spread of soybean aphids in the whole year, the first in soybean seedling stage, the second in early June, the third in mid-July and the fourth in early September. Generally speaking, the prevention and control should be carried out in the first ten days of July.

Prevention and control methods: give priority to chemical control, use 40% dimethoate EC 800x, or 40% omethoate EC 1000 times. 10% deltamethrin EC 15-20 ml per 667 square meters, 50% aldicarb wettable powder 10 grams per 667 square meters, 40-50 kg spray with water.
