II. Sources and types
Formerly known as "Tongshui 526", it is a spring sowing medium-ripe fresh (vegetable) soybean variety, which was systematically selected by the Institute of Agricultural Sciences along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province and bred in 2002.
III. Scope of adaptation
It is suitable for cultivation of edamame bean in spring in Jiangsu Province.
IV. Yield level and characteristics
In the regional trial of fresh edamame bean in Jiangsu Province from 2003 to 2004, the average fresh pod yield per mu was 548.3 kg, which was equal to that of the control, and the average fresh grain yield per mu was 306.3 kg, 10.0% higher than that of the control. In 2005, we participated in the production experiment of fresh soybean, the average yield of fresh pods per mu was 718.3 kg, which was equal to that of the control, and the average yield of fresh grains per mu was 422.4 kg, 11.8% higher than that of the control. From sowing to 91 days after harvest, the plant height was 30.6 cm, the main stem was 9.2 nodes, the pod height was 9.2 cm, the branches were 1.9, the pods per plant were 21.0, the percentage of multiple pods was 69.5%, the fresh weight of 100 seeds was 58.0 grams, and the kernel yield was 58.8%.
The seedling is strong and the young stem is green. The leaves are oval and light green. White flowers, fresh pods are sparse, light brown, pods are bright green. The podding habit is limited and the plant type is compact. The boiled bean kernel has a sweet taste and medium waxy. Dry seed coat green, cotyledons yellow. The occurrence of mosaic virus disease in the field is mild and the lodging resistance is strong. High susceptibility to mosaic virus was identified by inoculation, and the resistance was similar to that of the control.
5. Key points of cultivation techniques
1. Crop rotation. Choose fields that have not planted legumes in the first two crops.
2. Sowing seeds. Plastic film cultivation was sown in the middle and last ten days of March, and open field cultivation could sow seeds in the first and middle of April. The sowing rate is about 8 kilograms per mu.
3. Planting density. Row spacing 30 cm, hole spacing 10-15 cm, 2-3 grains per hole and 2-2.5 seedlings per mu.
4. Fertilizer and water management. The base fertilizer uses 5 kg of pure nitrogen, 5 kg of phosphorus pentoxide and 5 kg of potassium oxide per mu. 5 kg of pure nitrogen was applied per mu during flowering. Keep the soil moist after flowering and podding.
5. Control of diseases, insect pests and weeds. Use herbicides to control weeds and control diseases and insect pests before emergence after sowing.
6. Harvest. When the seeds are full and the pods are turquoise, pick the green pods and put them on the market.

Zhonghuang 13, a new high-yield soybean variety supported by the National Academy Director Fund (basic scientific research fee of the Institute of Social Welfare), has become the largest new soybean variety in China, with a record land of 10.87 million mu in 2007. Zhonghuang 13 (Guoshengdou 2001009) was bred by Wang Lianzheng, a famous soybean breeder and researcher of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and was recommended as the main soybean variety by the Ministry of Agriculture for three consecutive years from 2005 to 2007.
